yep, that's a dog leash! Had no other rope laying around but that stuff that is about 1 inch in diameter that would be strong enough to lift a semi. With my calculations off 300 lbs. each with the suction cups and that logging rope plus a twelve pack BUSH that could be enough pressure to rip the whole top off! Got to be careful of what your doing, by experience I have really screwed up some things after a few cold ones.

Good idea, I'll give it a try!

Here's another one of mine I noticed while going through my photobucket pics. I needed a good place to store my second set of wheels/tires. Started running out of space in the garage, so I built this loft. It is 20' long and 8' deep, cantilevered from above. I don't know how I could have done without it over the years...

$$$frumnuttin, Thats a good idea, but have you ever thought maybe you have to much stuff? Once in a blue moon I will go through mine and reluctantly get rid of things I have not used in years and then need it for something the next day. Finally got my garage about finished after 15 years but you just can't jump into these things! Got me a flat screen TV and watch football while pidling with my car or something. Has anybody painted their floor or put something down that doesn't cost your first born? As you can see in my pics I found some nice used kitchen cabinets and installed them, finished chinking my logs, next might be the floor.

I moved from the Chicago area to the Sarasota, FL area in 2005. As a result, I lost my basement and crawlspace storage area so I had to get creative in the garage. What I still find amazing, is how many Floridians choose to load up their garages with so much stuff, while they park their expensive (new) cars & trucks out in the driveway and never pull them into the garage.

I have no problem giving unused items, clothing, etc. away. I know I could make some extra $$$ with a yearly garage sale, however I believe in paying it forward and karma which results in a better life return. (Pretty deep for a Saturday morning)

Thanks, and yes, we are constantly ridding ourselves of stuff. But with grand kids, home maintenance, the corvette hobby, it just never ends. But, we are comfortable, happy, and I save lots of $$$ by doing just about everything around here myself. When we downsize later on my boys are going to get some really great tools, small engine machines, furniture, and you name it. If I do end up in FLA. it will have to be a single family home with a 3 car garage....I can't understand how you guys can live without additional storage space!

We're on the way to Sanibel in a few weeks...spent some time in the Sarasota area last fall...very nice area in many ways....I love the Gulf Coast the best...been all over the state over the years...even before I retired I did corrosion surveys for Ford. The salty coasts are the ruin of many vehicles...gave us great data to engineer improved corrosion resistance in the industry.

Wedged the bar between the floor and frame so it couldn't move, pulled the ECI fuse, and gave the starter a little bump. Worked like a charm!

Did you make these up yourself or have them manufactured? Beautiful piece of work. You obviously have some real engineering back ground.

Thanks; my background is mechanical and manufacturing engineering. The first one I made, myself with (large) threading help from a machinist.
