I got a poke from one of the members kidding me about my rig. I will go first. Anybody else come up with something that works but looks a little strange? I really saw this on a link but it does work on repairing your rear glass with rhino glue when it falls out.
Worked well. Might look a little funny. I would be interested in seeing what some of the other members have tried on various projects regardless if they worked or not. Some may be really helpful and some might make a good laugh!
MSG C5, How many hours of sitting at the computer on your CAD program did it take to come up with that? Figuring the tension x the length Divided by naught must have equaled X multiplied by 4 and carry the Y. Great formula. It could take me a few hours just to figure out the geometry on that set up! Great idea though, I like it. By the way I love the color of your car, real classy looking and very well done. Your new mods you posted look great.
Makes me wish I had mine on. The bottom corner of my mesh came loose and I don't feel like pulling all that crap to re-tape or re-glue it.
Instead of hooking the rubber bands up to the BSM, try looping in a strong paper clip and then hooking it into the crease between the door and the fender. Wrap it in blue painters tape first to make sure you don't scratch the paint.

I wish I was that smart and had that type of engineering skill. It was mostly me sitting there with a cold beer, listening to Rush blasting out of the garage, man-cave, stereo and trying to figure out how the hell I was going to be able to provide tension/pressure on two vertical surfaces until the silicone bonds. First I tried one rubber band, then two, then three and eventually used 6 until the screen coves did not move. I had about 4-5 failed attempts until I figured out that the plastic zip ties had to be positioned at the bottom of the screen/cove in order to prevent the screen from moving. The install for the second screen on the other side went a lot faster as a result!
I used a similar solution on the rear fascia screens:

Here's one I haven't posted yet. I came up with this idea for a driveway approach to prevent scraping and to smooth out the ride over the drain path built into our neighborhood's roadway. This is a stall mat bought from Tractor Supply. I cut it with a sawzall into 3 strips...16" X 6'. The mats are only $35 versus over $250 for the fancy ones you see advertised. These are very heavy and stay in place nicely. I put them away for winter because the snowplows could have a tough time if one got caught in the plow.
BTW, those weeds are gone now.... Also, if you buy one of these trake a friend along to help load it into your truck...it weighs about 100 lbs!

I would love to install those at the end of my driveway, however I'm sure the HOA ***** would pitch a fit! I got a letter once because I planted some "unapproved" bushes.

haha...You must live in Florida! I once got reprimanded by a guy with nothing better to do at a condo while we were on vacation. Apparently, I put our garbage in the wrong dumpster!! There were 4 buildings in a row with 3 dumpsters...one between each building. I was in a middle building and I guess I turned the wrong way to a dumpster!

I've had my drivers seat out twice now, and those wires that support the foam are cutting into the foam seat cushion pretty good. I bet they're cut in 1/2". I wanted to put something under that but could not think of something that would hold up. Then yesterday I took out the seat again to do the tracks (sloppy seat fix). I was going to make delrin bushings for that, but then I decided I'd do rubber cause I have rubber roofing from a job I did on the building here. Some of it has no backing and is .056 thick (precisely the thickness needed for both fore/aft & side-side). Others has backing on it which is really nice too. I used the .056 stuff to make my own "washers" and also did new side pieces around the drive nut. Then for the seat cushion, I cut a piece of the stuff with backing and folded that twice, stuffed it in under the wires and then spread it out to cover that entire seat area.
Now my seat cushion feels like new again (like the right side seat), and all's good in the world. No more sloppy seat, and no more sagging cushion.

Old men have fist-fights over parking spaces in Florida.

I just noticed that you used a retractable dog leash for that lol very nice
Haven't had my C5 long enough to get creative yet.... But back when I was a poor college kid and didn't want to spend money on a crank pulley holder, I improvised to get my crank pulley bolt loose when my impact gun couldn't budge it...
Wedged the bar between the floor and frame so it couldn't move, pulled the ECI fuse, and gave the starter a little bump. Worked like a charm!
