Default Tips on interior mods

I will be installing these in the coming weeks,

and I could use any tips and suggestions on removal and replacement of these panels, especially the door panels. Also suggestions of other upgrades that would be worth while to do while the door panels are off.

I also bought an I-pod adapter that I will probably go ahead and install while I'm pulling things apart.

Door panels are pretty easy, have done several times myself. Vette essentials, a forum vendor has a link on the left, has a great step by step instruction for the door panel. Follow that, you can't go wrong.

Have fun!

The bottom of the door panel is connected via "plastic pop rivets". They just pop off once you try to pry the door panel way from the door. Get a PLASTIC tool to pry the door panel away from the door. A Metal tool WILL scratch the paint.

Various pics on this web site also.

that the instructions on the Vette Essentials web site are excellent for removing and installing at least two of those parts (door panels and knee bolster). I have used the instructions repeatedly on my car.

First thing I would do would be to remove the door panel off the hood of the car. Second, I would check out the Vette Essentials website and look at the installation for the door pulls which walks you through the removal of the door panel.

I've removed mine a few times and you really don't need those fork-like tools as the panels pull off rather easily. Tip is to remove the reflector and simply pull the door panel by grabbing the handle and the open area where the reflector was. There are a total of 6 pins.

Found them right here in the parts for sale section. One time when I was first in line for a change . Came out of a 20k 02 Z06 which was/is being converted to a track car. Like you, I've been looking for some time now.

Wondering about sound deadening. Anyone add anything that was successful in reducing road noise in the doors?
