Taking the Corvettes with us
After years of talking about it and numerous vacations here, my wife and I have made the move to Hawaii to retire. We decided to have both of the Corvettes shipped and they should be arriving the week of Nov. 19th. Finding a home with a three car detached garage with a garage workshop sold the deal for me. Won't have to worry about not driving the Corvette in the winter due to snow! Looking forward to meeting some of the other Corvette owners here - Aloha
Very nice...! The American Dream... Work, Retire, move to Hawaii with wife and two Vette's.. Doesn't get much better than that! Post some pics when the Vette's arrive. That is a sweet little place you have there.... Congrats!
Very cool! Looking forward to more pics and maybe some of the garage man cave as well. It looks like a great piece of real estate!
Just be careful and don't give into the urge to drive around in a red Ferrari, wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball cap and way-too-much-leg-showing man shorts!

It's not outrageous. We dropped the cars off in San Diego and had to drive them around because you can't ship with more than a quarter tank of gas - could have siphoned or drained the tanks, but driving was more fun. They guarantee arrival within 20 days of drop off at $1276 for the first Corvette, my Z06, and and $150 discount for the second Corvette, the wife's C6. I took the optional zero deductible damage insurance on each for $110. They went in a container with two other cars, a new Camaro and a new BMW.
As a sidenote, on our first night in the house the sirens blared and police cars came up and down the streets with the tsunami warning over the loudspeakers from the earthquake in Canada. We didn't get much at all on this side of the island - 3 ft above normal tide they said. On the side of a hill 150 ft above seal level, I feel pretty safe from tsunamis.

That was my little token of saying 'Congrats!' to you.
