This is my very first post on the forum I hope to someday belong to. I'm in the market for a low mileage C5 vert automatic. I know nothing about vettes, have always collected old muscle cars but no vettes. I still have a few old ones as you can see below but now want a C5.I am going to look at one that looks good to me here it is.
Car was garaged all it's life but the last 3 yrs was under a car cover in FL,lots of rain and heat in summer. Is that a problem? Also what do you think of the car and price?Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks Paul
I like it! The price seems in the ball park. I went through this process in January and pulled the trigger in April. Probably won't get to drive it much until April.
Ironically, I also have an 03 L and live in MA

You just can't find a better color than that. Of course, I'm a bit biased......
But it certainly looks like it was well cared for; just make sure you check all maintenance records. Also ask the owner if he or she already replaced/had replaced or installed:
A column lock bypass
Bronze headlight motor gears
Differential gaskets
Door lock module or power window motor
EBCM repair or replacement
Smog pump check valve
Oil pressure sender unit
Granted, some of those may not have failed but my 01 has had everything done except the oil pressure sending unit.
Check for codes, both current and historical. Check the operation of everything electrical. Read up on all the bells and whistles that this car has. Research is definitely your friend when it comes to car buying.
I think you found a winner! Beautiful car, color and price. Pull the trigger before someone else recognizes a winner! (Dont worry these cars are alot better than the general public likes to give credit to) Welcome to the Corvette fraternity. Good luck, Rob
thanks for all the replies mostly positive but still will check it out. Yes the 50th one with 19K mi is pristine in every way but his price is more than I'm looking to pay even though it is priced right for it's condition. Will let you know how it works out.Tks Paul
Just back from looking at the 02. A waste of time. Needs brakes all around,CD changer in trunk missing owner says broken, antenna squeaks going up and down, trunk does not pop open like it should, inside of wheels pitted, conv top discolored and all moldy, uncleanable I'm sure, and RF blk plastic spoiler hanging. Car also smelled very musty probably from being under a cover for 3yrs,other than that nice! The search continues. Thanks for your
responses.Paul

Be conscious about the distinction between price and cost. You will probably be able to find another car at a lower price, but in the long run, a pristine, low mileage car may cost less over the long run.
