Default DRL question

I want to disable DRL on my c5. I tried following so far.
1.Disabled approach lights from DIC
2.Removed fuse from fuse box

I still have DRLs on when i turn headlights on. Is there any way to disable them permanently? When i turn headlights on those front DRLs and side lights come on automatically.

I tried to remove that fuse and it disables DRL. But those lights come on when i turn headlights on along with side lights. Is there anyway to disable them permanently ? I can remove the bulb but then i will have to remove side light bulbs too

The turn signal bulb is dual filament, one for sidelights and one for turn signals with a common ground. The DRLs feed both circuits but you can inhibit them. You can pull the fuse or do the relay mod. Either way you'll get a B0502/B0507 DTC.

Jochen posted the best guide on how to do the full DRL Relay mod. Pulling the A2 fuse disables the DRLs but you'll also lose your approach lights function. If you pull the relays and fit the jumpers the approach lights still work.

If you want to inhibit the parking lights function you need to snip the brown wire at the turn signal lamp unit. That way the amber bulb acts only as a turn signal. Thats how mine is set up to comply with Brit safety rules.

Assuming you pulled the correct A2 fuse labelled Approach in the Engine Compartment fuse panel, that's not DRLs that's the parking lights. The only way to stop those is to snip the brown

Apologies I reverted to English

I think you're confused between DRLs and parking lights. With the A2 fuse pulled you have NO DRLs

Yes, to stop the parking lights and just use the lamp as a turn signal you cut the brown wire.
