I was born in NJ, but spent the major portion of my life in western NY....the snow belt. You guys don't know what winter is!! I called my aunt one day, just before I went to work (B shift), as I was looking for some family information.
My cousin, a school teacher, answers the phone. I ask what she's doing home, and not at school. She replies that school is closed due to a heavy snow storm. I asked how much snow fell...she replies "an inch". I break out into uproarious laughter, she asks what is so funny, and what do we do when we "get THAT much snow". I reply, "We slow down to 55"!!!!
(and store our prized Corvettes, so they don't have their metal parts destroyed by road salt....)
I did take mine out last Friday, before the snow and calcium chloride and salt hit the roads. Rule of thumb here is 3 good rains until roads are clean enough to drive the vette on. But first it has got to get above freezing.
Hey hey hey........it was cold here sunday nite.....was 56!!! And mine loved it too!!! Theres a nice stretch on the way out of the plant goin home @ midnite and the TC was workin OverTime!! Almost went back to make a pass with it off just for the hell of it

Yea, here in central PA, we get some snow, but most years it's just sissy stuff. I have a friend in Oswego NY, he's right off the lake there. He sent me photos of his house once showing a LOT of snow. He's got a deck off the back of the house 10' from ground level. The snow was was so deep that from the roof line, it was a continuous line, there was snow 15-20' deep.
Once you see that, everything else is not very much snow... I've had enough some years back that the ball on top of my antenna was all that was visible of my car. But that doesn't happen here but once every 20 years.
I just got back from dinner, and unless it gets a lot nicer tomorrow, mines staying in. Lots of times we'll get a warm snap this time of year and might see 70F. Not looking like that in the forecast...
Sunny day here in Michigan with air temperature of 34 degrees and bone dry air = something that feels like 50 additional horsepower! Sorry, you guys in the south can't experience what this cold air can do for you and your car, I know all the arguments about living in the south vs. the colder climes, but this is truly amazing. Car feels like it is supercharged, even in D for drive....3rd gear on the Eway is simply fantastic. To my fellow northerners...get that beast out on the roads and try to keep the grin off your face.

Down here in Oklahoma, my Vette runs year round. The SB00 is getting some 90K maintenance love from the local Vette Guru. All new fluids, fixing a coolant leak, tracked down a pesky oil leak. Other tweaks as well.
Get her back in time for a spin before a pheasant hunting trip 12/1/12. Never put her up for the winter!
Don't know how you guys go months without at least hearing your cars run. Cold air makes me go Mustang hunting......LOL!

You are right about the ridiculous reaction to an inch of snow here. But my Vette never sleeps for the winter anyway. I won't drive in snow, but when the roads are clear, out I go. It's a car...
Where I live they salt the snot out of the roads, so once it's snowed, its away till the spring. Plus, I have another hobby in the winter....skiing. Takes up just about every weekend until the end of March.
