Drugs are bad. Don't do drugs.......................and drive
I was in a closed course enviorment and pushed the traction control / active handling feature to see what it would do and was quite impressed. Dry surface w/ RunFlats! I thought it was quite the system but mine was functioning properly i believe
I do know of a case at the track where a C6 Z had a failure of the anti lock braking system. His brakes locked at 140 mph and stayed that way until he planted the nose of the car into the tire barrier. He was okay and the car basically was too. In that case I believe it was an electrical short in the system.
Usaully I would join the consensus here, but if the OP said that the conditions were dry and the driving normal, well then it may have been as stated.
Another thing. Prices on C5s are down to a very affordable level for most. Problem is that the C5 is fairly sophisticated sports car, with a relatively high power to weight ratio, that can turn around and bite you on the a$$ in a heartbeat if not driven correctly, whether at or near the limit. I've had mine going on two years, and with "only" 350BHP, it still amazes me that when you beat on it a little, it will try to bite you back, and very quickly. I've been to Skip Barber, raced and did a lot of HPDEs, and I would say that the C5 could easily be a handfull in "inexperienced" hands. May by contributory to OP's issues.
No, you lost control because you probably drove like an idiot and couldn't handle your car. The traction control didn't cause you to lose control in the first place.
For the owners that have these issues with their traction control can't they just push the button and turn it off ?
Truly sorry you damaged your car. I do not see you having a case. I like to keep my traction control off. I found it to be annoying on my 2002 Z06. I often like to get up to the speed limit in as short time as possible and the traction control seems to "kick in" when it is not necessary.
I'm sure a class action suit is quite possible. You should have no trouble getting a large number of stupid drivers together claiming their accidents were someone else's fault. Isn't everything nowadays?
Maybe Santa will bring the OP a sense of aftermath for Christmas..
My car blows through traction control so fast it's useless and I certainly don't count on it.
From: Ok! So you don't believe in conspiracies, but will you acknowledge the possibility of there being coordinated activities in secret places? Texas
Michele, in most cases, in the USA is a girl and judging by the picture it is in this case also. This has nothing to do with the subject, but folks keep saying "him/he" and it's annoying me slightly. I'm done.
