His ad is misleading. While all 2003s are 50th anniversary editions, his is not a 50th anniversary special edition. Under "Trim" he lists the car as "50th Anniversary Edition Convertible 2 door.

Yep, it's a very low mileage 2003 50th Anniversary Model convertible.
He'll never get that. My friend just traded in a '03 Z06 with 550 miles and only was able to get $25k. Now he has a C6Z06.
I think a vert is worth a bit more than any FRC and every local has different demand. I am convinced the friend of yours that sold his Z06 got the bad end of the deal. To truly find out check the stealership and see what they have it for sale for...and I am betting it isnt 25k!!!!!!! (let us know) Probably for $33k, that is the price you should be looking at not the trade in price, he lost $5 grand cause he was too lazy to sell himself.
The car in the ebay listing only has 799 miles on it--he might get high dollar (and I hope the buyer knows that he might have to replace all the dry rotted rubber...)

Yeah, I seriously doubt he'll get anywhere near $45K for the car, but he does give the option to make an offer. Still, he really has no clue what the C5 market is bringing these days.
If I'm not mistaken, last yr in the for sale section, this car was listed. It was being sold by a teenager, as his grandpa who owned the car had died. No one took him seriously.
He's dillusional if he thinks he's only going to lose approximately $10K on a 2003 convertible that he didn't drive for the last 9 years. Seriously, did he just go outside and look at the car?! 800 miles in 9 years?!
It looks very clean, however he will be lucky to get anything above $25K. He might think the super low mileage is a plus, however as a buyer it would raise a red flag because I would immediately need to replace all fluids, hoses, belts and tires.

just in case you dont know ,a 03 FRC is a Zo6, and worth more than any 03 verts with the same miles.

He works there and got a good deal on the new z06 and took a hit on the c5. It sold for 29K over the internet to someone in Canada. I told him I would have paid $25 for it and flipped it for a profit in the Spring.
To a large number of buyers, that's simply not true. Not everyone wants a manual transmission and/or a fixed roof.

True, not everyone wants a stick or frc but according to Kelley Blue Book and NADA manual trans is an add and so is z06 model. In my area Zs pull more value than verts for C5s. Just because you may not want it does not make what you do want more valuable to everybody else.
