If you'll look at the sticky threads at the top of this forum you will see that the nasty "did you use search" posts are now against forum rules.
Everyone was new to Corvette ownership and this forum at one point. Why should new members be expected to do and act any differently than those of us who already asked these same questions when we were new? We should welcome new members, not beat them up because they asked a question that to them is perfectly reasonable.
From: Should this thoughtful, valuable contribution meet with no acknowledgement or 'thanks' this post----
There's no such thing as the perfect car....and no such thing as the perfect forum. Pretty corny, but also pretty accurate....2013 is here, let's move on.

But what about....
"What tires should I buy?"
"What oil should I use?"
"What exhaust should I get?"
"Is my car running too hot?"
"How do I program my key fob?"
"Why is my belt chirping?"
"What grade fuel do I need?"
"How do I lower my car?"
"What shocks should I get?"
Etc etc ad nauseam.
Admit it, there are those among us who enjoy these types of questions because it gives us a chance, once again, to boast what kind of tires, exhaust, and shocks we possess.

Tires get updated yearly, as do a lot of shocks, oil formulations, exhast avbailability etc. Chill brother, new people arrive, many of them aren't 'pros' at using this forum. Just ignore those that you don't want to read, or read them and help out a new member by answering their question.

I always try to help out when someone asks questions about oil/tires/exhaust/etc...the problem is that they ask a question that has no one correct answer and the thread turns into the same "which oil is better" argument.
But what really gets me is the people who post a question at 4am and then when they don't get an answer within a few hours they assume nobody knows....90% of these questions could be answered by just typing it into google, which will then link you directly to the relevant thread on the forum....which brings me to my next point: Google search > Forum search.

Google is also the worst search engine in existence for ignoring your right to privacy, not to mention it's driven by sponsors instead of relevant information. If you want a search engine that only searches use DuckDuckGo.com.
as previously stated we a 45 day rule in effect for a reason.
I previously posted a thread about responses saying "use the search" it's not helpful and usually posted in a way that is seen as hostile...if you can't post the answer or the link to the answer a simple TTT will do or you can just move on.
we were all new once....remember that.
