I'm not sure what just happened , what I do know is that a guy in a pickup almost got t- boned , it's been raining here for the past few days and has not gotten above 40 degrees so the roads are still pretty damp .. After I realized that the truck was going to come on out from the store that he was at there was not much time to think ,, I had to hit the brakes so hard that the car broke traction and started to go side ways I jerked the wheelin the opposite direction ....the next thing that I knew I was completely straight and back in my lane ... I did nothing hat so ever to striagten the car back up it was almost like it done it on its own . I did notice the the traction control light had light up but it was only a glance... If this is what the traction control is all about then I'm here to let all of you know that in my case it just saved my life .... It's strange I never get the chance to drive my car it sits more than most of you'll s , I just happen to be working in Houston until this Friday , so I made arrangements to have work (mods ) done to it while down here ... I've got 200 miles to go ..
That wasn't traction control that saved your bacon, it was ABS. All are controlled by the EBCM, but one keeps you from spinning the tires when you accelerate, the other keeps any one brake from locking up and causing a spin out.

It sure did because you're supposed to turn into a skid, not in the opposite direction. Just ask Bill Cosby, he'll tell ya.
I don't know about all that , it happened to fast , all I know is the car straightened itself up. That may sound stupid but it happened I had to counter move to keep from hitting the *******

You got lucky, that's for sure. Your first mistake was taking your Corvette to Houston.
I almost got hit when I was down there last week. A lady decided she wanted to change lanes on the freeway despite the fact that I already occupied the spot she was trying to move to. If not for excellent peripheral vision and quick reflexes she'd have taken out the side of my car easily with the big SUV she was driving. I hate driving down there; a lot of the people are nuts.

Agreed , I live in a small town with 1,000 people , the only reason I brought the car back with me is that corvettes of Houston are doing some mods to her

I agree that it was active handling that saved your butt - a very nice feature to have on the car. I've had it save me once when the roads were very slick. Glad you, and the car, are OK.
