As a vert owner, most of my driving is top down. However, when I take longer road trips or drive on the expressway, I drive with the top up to reduce noise and wind buffering.

Over the years, I have significantly improved (reduced) both the road noise and the heat coming in through the transmission tunnel. I accomplished this with the following mods:

1.) Replaced run flats with non-run flats
2.) Replaced OEM shocks with Koni FSD shocks
3.) Installed RaamAudio BXTII and Ensolite
4.) Installed convertible trunk partition
5.) Installed Elite Engineering aluminum tunnel plate with thermal abs
6.) Installed Corsa X-pipe with Corsa Pro Indy exhaust
7.) Installed new/custom stereo (It didn't help reduce noise, but it made the good noise better!)

Because I performed these mods over the years, there was not one moment of drastic improvement, however my wife immediately noticed the improvements and lower noise level after all the mods were complete. She went on a long road trip with me earlier this year and it was the first time since the upgrades that we drove together with the top up for an extended period and she could not believe how much "nicer" the car sounded.

Hey MSG,

How is the partition? been wondering how it attaches to the car and if it makes much of a difference with the top up (obviously). Is it secure enough to stay in place with top down?

Is it permanent enough that i could custom build a tray, like you see for the coupes for storage in the winter months, to fit in that space?

Mine is very secure. It originally came with 4 velcro sections, however I installed a full strip of velcro on the top to make it more secure, plus it has a pressure fit design. Enough that I even installed a quick release fire extinguisher mount.

Not sure if you have enough room for the tray however. I have seat hoops installed so there is little room when the top is down.

The partition also helps protect the top when the top is down from anything moving stored in the trunk like golf clubs, etc.
