I recent bought my first Vette, a 2001 coupe. I love the car but the cabin noise is a bit more than I like. I have looked at some of the kits available to reduce noise and heat.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has installed one of these kits. Do they work as well as advertised? Is one superior to the others?
Man I hate to be that guy, but why did you buy a Corvette if you're worried about cabin noise? It is, afterall, a sports car. Certainly tire selection can play a role and dynamat-like material could help if you determine what the noise actually is that's bothering you, but it's still a bit ironic.

Sounds like you will want to sound deaden the car. When I bought mine, the motor noise and exhaust didn't bother me but the road noise did. I am not a fan of the pre-cut kits. I believe in custom cutting each piece and doing a complete tailored install. Here is my thread on the subject,
I've just ordered a kit to install next week. I'm doing it to reduce the exhaust harmonics and also the heat that comes through the tunnel. I've read where the kits make a nice improvement to both.
I looked a Frost Kind here in Hawaii but they wanted $30 a roll.
>I'm looking for a good insulation/experienced advisor who has done this, I'm sure it's llike anything getting what you paid for type of thing.
I'm happy as it is, , but, that said, would not mind the vert. being a little quieter, winter project too, might be a nice one..probably wouldn't take too long. I'm not sure how to get the door panels off, the first gig. never did this . I believe the quality kits have these pieces........

I don't get it either. For me, it was the rawness and noise that convinced me to buy it. I just love the race car feel of the C5. Maybe the OP needs a louder exhaust to drown out the mechanical and road noise. Or maybe a Lexus will be a better choice. People buy these cars without understanding that it is a plastic bodied car on a steel space frame with all aluminum suspension components. It was designed to be as light as possible and thus sound deadening was not a priority.

I recently had the sound/heat insulation kit from Vettenutts installed in my 2003 C5.
I think it was a wonderful investment for me, which will not wear out with time. The reduction of road noise is significant and immediately noticeable, in the improvement of the sound of your stereo, radio, or just conversation with someone else in the car with you.
I'm sure, next summer when it is hot; the decrease in heat in the cab, will be more noticeable, and more fully appreciated.
They (Vettenuts) did the install, and I did get both layers (added premium layer a little extra $$$). They began work at about 0830am, and I was on the road towards home by about 1230.
Ten miles out on the interstate, on the way home, and I was smiling to myself, knowing that I got my moneys worth, with the investment I'd just made for my C5. The radio/stereo sounded so much improved, because I could hear all the hi's and low's of music, and conversation on the radio; better.
It's still America's sports car, and you hear that! It won't sound Cadillac quiet; nor do I want it to. But definitely a worthwhile investment, if you plan to keep your car long term, spend lots of miles and hours in it; as I do.
with changing the tires. Are you also sure the car is stock? If the exhaust has been changed, the car lowered, suspension components changed, etc, the car will be on the noisy side.
We sell a lot of these kits and when adding the Ensolite/Premium layer as we did for Donald it makes a huge difference. Here are some photos of the Premium kits.
I am sure I am opening a can or worms here, but when I looked into doing this to my AE, those that did the noise-reduction did not post reviews that convinved me that the bang was worth the buck. Some posted that there was only minimal change in the noises in the cabin.
So, I installed cut-outs and enjoy really LOUD and then OEM quiet (whatever that is.)
