Question for other vert owners? When I attempt to drive with top up and windows down or even cracked that darn flap over the vert hatch flaps like a duck is taking off behind my head!!! What are my options to fix or avoid this?
That cloth flap is there to protect the window when the top is down. Too bad GM didn't do anything to prevent the wear spots all of the vert tops get when down.
Once I figured ou t that the flap is just to protect the glass, I thought about cutting it loose from the top and using a small blanket to lay on the carpet to protect glass when top down.
It also hides that kickass tonneau cover when top up.
velcro straight below the flap to the carpet. Both pieces comes right off so if you sell noone will know they were there. In mexico right now or I would send you a pic
I am confused again. If it's nice enough to ride with the windows down, it's nice enough to go with the top down. No problems. If you're problem is with too much wind, too much sun, or both, why did you buy a convertible?

On a 50 degree day with the sun beaming in, it's too cold for the top to be down, and too nice to be all enclosed.
How about two strips off elastic sewn to the edge of the flap and a clip on the end to clip under the hard cover somewhere? ??
Stretch them over the humps behind the seat and under the cover.
Well, if it really bothers you that much and you have some left over money you want to **** away, buy one of those Wind Restrictors. I bought one in hopes of taming down the wind in the cockpit. It didn't even come close to working for that purpose, but it did help out a little with the rear glass protector flopping around quite as much while driving with the top up and the windows down. Aerovette's idea sounds pretty good! Wish I'd a thought of it, I could have saved a bunch a bucks.
I love this forum. Not only can you get real info on how to do this or that, but you also can get the best medicine - laughter. Case in point: whether to drive with the top up and 1 or 2 windows down or top down when it's 50 degrees outside. I never thought of that scenario as a contentious point of philosophy. Personally, when the decision comes up and it's that warm, it's Harley time [I know, I'm a fair weather rider, but I'm also an old man so give me a break]

There are already two elastic strips sewn in, one at each end of it. The ends of these are folded and sewn to strengthen so the grommets have more meat to hold. Then screws go through the grommet to the framework. What I did with mine was to remove those (one screw each side), fold and double up the ends with the grommets in so they take up more slack, and screw em back on. Now that I think about it, I might have also used some 3M adhesive on them as well so they stay put. With it tightened up it no longer flaps around. It is a **** poor design though. Really sad when you think what it might have cost Gm to not have that issue. All of a buck maybe?
