Nice ride, price does not matter if your happy with it.I bought a 98 a few years ago with 2800 mi. and it still has a new car smell and it still makes me smile on freeway on-ramps.Make sure you check your dealership for recalls, i just had my electronic column lock and lap belt webbing done last week.

DON'T get the column lock recall done to your car, there are tons of posts on the forum explaining why that is a very bad idea.

OOPS,I guess I need a bypass kit now.I always keep my battery on a charger when I am not using it and a low battery seems to be the culprit with most of these issues. Thanks for the advice,I should have checked with the forum before I had this recall done.

I drove it home from Poughkeepsie today..... I live in upstate New York.
I purchased it from Lomotion.....
The color did a good job hiding the road salt, now I need a nice warm day to clean her up.

I almost had the recall on a Monday but I happened to post about it on Sunday, I'm glad that I did.

Don't want to hijack the thread but do you know exactly what they did to your car? Did they remove the locking plate, or just loosen it? There are other posts about the plate rattling if it wasn't removed. There could be other issues after the so called fix, so you might want to read up don't want you to have any problems.

Now as far as the advice goes, most of the people here are great they have saved me more then once, just trying to pass it on.

Beautiful car! I personally think that you did good on the purchase price. A low mileage well cared for car such as yours is definitely worth the price. Hope you enjoy your vert. There is nothing like dropping that top and taking a spirited cruse. Sure hope that Spring comes soon.

Thanks to everyone that replied....Now comes the tough decision, EXHAUST. I'm thinking about going with GHL bullets. I had GHL on my 98FRC about 8 years ago and i was pleased.
I had Borla on my 07..I was happy with that too.....

Still have original top and it looks almost new. Use Raggtop cleaner and conditioner about every 2 years.

Good luck with your 98.

Default I use the following 2 Raggtopp items on my vert top

The RaggTopp Fabric/Vinyl Cleaner is safe for use on both fabric and vinyl tops. The powerful formula lifts soils and stains, and will repel the growth of mildew, as well as repel future stains from other sources.

RaggTopp Fabric Protectant will protect your top from acid rain, along with U.V. rays, smog, tree sap, bird droppings, salt, tar, dirt, grease, and grit. The superior polymer formula micro-bonds to the top to keep out even the smallest particles. It contains UV stabilizers and is ozone-friendly.

First ordered them online but found I can obtain them locally for about the same price. The cleaner has a pump sprayer and I use a soft plastic bristle brush to use it with water to thoroughly clean the top. Rinse it and let dry completely. Usually wash it on a warm sunny day.
The PROTECTANT is in a pressurized spray can. First I put some newspapers around the bottom of the top to prevent overspray. Then spray it on and coat the whole top. Go over again to add more protectant. Remove it from the rear window.
Let it dry in the sun.
Believe there are some videos online showing how to do this.
The cleaner doesn't get used up as fast as the protectant. I still have some cleaner from my first purchase. Have purchased a few more cans of protectant over the years.
As I remember the can can do more than one conditioning. Might want to start with 1 bottle of cleaner and 1 can of protectant and buy more protectant later.
Good luck.

You did very well, I bought mine, a 98 coupe m6, in 2005 with 58000 miles for 20,000, now I have 108,000, love the car, worked out the gremlins and I just ride. Changed the fuel filter yesterday, washed it today and rode.
