Very good thread! I see it the same way, my Z has 14K Miles and is only a sunday driver car for me, no track or what so ever (okay perhaps a quarter mile from time to time). It is currently complete stock in regards to suspension, I have the ZIP kit already at home. Does anybody has a manual on how to lower the car. I have an ACI hard spoiler in the front, I guess I shouldn´t go to low..... thanks guys!

Those cars LOOK awesome but as "Solofast" suggests, all of them are likely sitting on the bump stops most of the time. That's why they all feel like they lean less and ride more stiff.
"Solofast" is right in that all of you folks who lower the car that much and think the cars handle better that way are just kidding yourselves...or maybe it's just that you don't understand what "at-limit handing" actually means.
Yep, they'll "feel" better at slow speed, but if you ever actually drive them on a track or, worse yet, really fast on a curvey back road with just a few swales, undulations or dips, the car will be so darty, ill-handling and unpredictable, that I could beat you guys in my V6 Camaro, much less my '04 Z06.
Now...before you key-up some hate mail, I can understand the like of the slammed look. My '04 would look better, too, slammed in the weeds but, since I sometimes I head for an empty mountain road drive the car like I stole it, lowering my car that much would be dangerous.
Basically, cars slammed that much are extremely appealing--seductive even--to look at, but when you try to actually run them hard through the turns, you won't believe how hard they are to drive.
With the C5 FE4 suspension once you have the stock spring bolts turned to their limits, beyond that, while looks are enhanced, the car's handing at the limit is degraded because of lack of travel. This is especially true at the rear.
I don't mean this to discourage folks from lowering, but I do want to explain the reality of how trim height affects ride and handling.
Raised the back a bit. I'm running Bilstein Sport Shocks and the ride is about 20% stiffer.
Love it looks bad azz. I do agree with ppl saying that the car will not handle as good and it dose not but not a big difference. My car is a street car and its NOT pushed to the limit ever so no worries.

I'll try to make this not sound so dumb, I was gonna lower the front of my 03Z, did the rear the other day and I pulled the front wheels off today and I was shocked to find the front bolts are not like the rear (no bolt head and nut to put a wrench on) after looking at the pics on this post I'm assuming you just put a wrench or socket on the end of the front bolts that is pointed up and if I wanted to remove them just unscrew it all together? Again I'm just asking probably a very simple question I just don't want to screw anything up and If I did remove the front screw about how much should that lower the front end, I was just wanting to achieve an inch lower maybe 1 1/4 inch. Any help will be appreciated.
Two statements that just don't belong in the same post.
Obligatory: Come at me bro!
"Come...
at...
me...
bro". Is that like..."Don't tase me, bro?"
What I meant was, a C5Z that's been seriously slammed and is either riding on or bouncing off the bump stops most of the time when driven hard in the turns, is going to be very hard to drive fast. It will be darty, it will oversteer inconsistently and be unpredictable. When you try to drive a car which handles like that fast on road with turns, you're either all over the road, you slow way down or you wreck.
In the meantime, a guy in a modestly-modifed V6 Camaro with a well sorted chassis and good tires will simply drive so much deeper into the turn and carry so much speed though it, you'll never catch him.
I'll admit, on a straight, as long as the road's smooth, you'd blow me in to the weeds.
Ok... I have noticed something on some of these lowering kits that some of the vendors are selling.
1. This is the rear lowering kit that I'm using from East Coast Corvettes. It has the cushions with the rear lowering bolts. Front bolts are the same as most other vendors.
So... my question is to you guy's that have lowered you're vettes like I have. Which type or style of lowering kit are you guy's running in the rear? I have seen Zips and they don't have the cushions with their kit either.
The front bolts that I'm using are identical to all the above, but my rears are maxed out all the way but it's not anywhere near as low as everybody else's that have posted in this thread. I'd say maybe a half inch or so difference.
It seems to me that the limiting factor for me in the rear is the cushions that are installed with my kit, and if I removed them I think it would be as low as everybody else's in this thread.
Does anybody know if by not having the cushions is a bad idea?
I have Zip-Lowering and my mechanic used oem cushions in the back they fit perfect!
Yea... you're car looks really good, but I am trying to figure out the deal about the cushions as to why some kits will come with them and some don't like the kit from Zip and one of the two kits that Corvette Central sell and the kit I am using from East Coast Corvettes that came with them, and as to why my rear kit is maxxed out with more rear fender gap.
I'm still running the stock wheel set up but I have seen some of the pics on here of a few people that are running the stock wheel set up and their fender gap is still a half inch to 3/4 of an inch lower than mine. I know the deal about the front. It's either use them or take them completely out.
