I love the look of the lowered car but when you run out of suspension travel you're in trouble. I have enough trouble keeping my front end off the street with the stock height so I don't know how you guys deal with that. I think if I ever do that I'll do it with the coils though.
I agree with this. My Cobra I just sold was lowered 1 3/4" front and 1 1/4" rear on H&R race springs. It was never an issue with just going down the road, but my 2001 on stock settings even rubs sometimes. The stupid plastic air dams on these cars are the issue. It's like having a splitter on there.
I'm lowered all the way on the front. Lowering bolts on the rear but not all the way down. LG World Challenge wheels and BFG rubber. Car rides just like stock.
One additional note on mine. I'm running C6 Z06 shocks. Don't know if that makes a difference...
Bilstein B8 Sport Shock are meant for lowered cars. And they are available for our cars for around $400 ill be installing them on my car with zip-lowering bolts first week of April (ill keep u guys posted)
Bilstein B8 Sport monotube shocks and struts deliver absolute mastery of the road surface for the performance-minded driver. Designed to push a car's suspension to its performance peak, these shocks are specifically suited for use with special lowering springs in combination with anti-sway bars or other suspension upgrades. How about raise it back up a bit so the suspension can actually work and you don't have as much chance of hitting anything?
Dropping the car to the weeds and running on ultra low profile tires isn't doing you any favors.
This car isn't as low as my previous one. And the tires aren't rubber bands lol. The backs are pretty meaty drag radials and the fronts are that thin either. Although I agree that it NEEDS to be raised. But Instead ill use coilovers I guess
Move away from Tampa...lol I use to live in Brandon and daily drove to Macdill afb via the crosstown. Wasn't bad until I got off of it and drove through downtown and down Bayshore. Holy crap those were the worst roads I've ever driven on! The whole city has terrible roads. I couldn't imagine driving my z there on a daily bassis
