hitting it with turtle wax ice or tire shine makes it look really good. Basically anything that shines rubber or plastic. I'm actually thinking about doing the pieces that run along the sides from the front vent along the door. Itll be like a black stripe.

I dipped my mirros and halo, did not really like it so I pealed it right off. No adverse effects. I also dipped the wheels on my Nissan xterra. This was last May and it is still looking good, even with the snow and ice we have had this year (and road salt).
