So how does one get in and around those fancy chrome tips to apply this plastic dip? I've got maybe 3/16" clearance. Is this sprayed on? And how does it come off if you screw up somewhere along the line.

I saw another post here where someone removed a few bolts and the exhaust seemed to swing down and out of the way.

If you mess up, just wait until it dries and it will peel off like it was never done in the first place. You might be able to spot touch up if it gets nicked. Just be sure to pull the tape while it's still wet, else you'll pull it all off..

Yea I suppose you could wrench down the exhaust but it's a bich getting them lined up again.

So is this application from a spray can? And if so, what is the recommended brand?

Plasti dip is the brand it's the only one and just tape the exhaust off including mufflers behind the vents you'll be all set
And yes it's in spray can form

Armor All makes pretty much the exact same thing called Custom Shield, the only difference between it and Plasti-Dip is the Armor All cost about twice as much a can. and its only 4 oz bigger. go with the Plasti-Dip way more color choices

i did the rear of mine, and daily drove it all summer and about a third of the winter and one small part of it is lifting on the edge where i had a small imperfection when i pulled the tape of after painting. so id say it holds up really well for how easy it is to spray and also i wash the car about every other day

I plasti-dipped my emblems on my old 350z and it looked great and lasted for about a year, then I noticed bubbling and when I touched it, it flaked off like disentigrated rubber.

I do live in FL so the heat could have something to do with it. So I'd suggest buying the black piece sold for the back unless you want to redo it every year.

FYI everyone.. once plasti-dip has been on for close to a year it DOES NOT peel off with ease like when you first use it... not even close.

Then again it could have just been that I live in FL and the car sat in the sun in my work parkinglot 5 days a week.

The more coats you put on the easier it is to peel off in one sheet. If you put a thin layer on it can be a pain...due to it ripping and crumbling.

I put it on the rear and front over a year ago and it still looks like it was sprayed yesterday

Soap and water with micro fiber towel. I don't apply much pressure.
