Auo Interiors and Tops in Raleigh - 2 guys seem to run the place,
Tommy and Travis. I spoke with both on the phone, can't say who I talked to in person when I picked the car up. Both extremely helpful and did what they said they would do with no funny stuff like selling add ons.
During the time I was looking for a shop I found another one in Wilson who is a Robbins distributor - don't remember the name, but look up Robbins Tops and you can find their authorized list. Wilson shop was at $1,700+ though.
And as an aside, both my kids went to Campbell - so, I've driven down to your neighborhood alot while they were there.

Curious, did they tell you not to drop the top for 3 weeks? My guy did to me. Not exactly sure why, but I spent the money so I best listen to him since I'm sure he knows that which he speaks
They didn't . Does anyone know why it shouldn't be dropped for three weeks?
Important update: After the first dropping of the new top I pulled it up and fastened it in place and see 2 small poke holes about 2" apart just behind the drivers window. Something from the frame side has made the holes (looks like just the tips of screws may be at fault). I took pictures and sent the pics to Auto Tops and Interiors and said I would bring the car for them to look. I dropped the car off and 4 days later I call back and asked what they found. Sure enough, frame screws caused the damage. They can't understand why though since the OEM screws were re-used. Yeah, I don't know why either but my new top has 2 holes Two more days later the shop manager calls and says, you know the top isn't structurally damaged and would last a long time, or the owner says he will take half off of a new top install. What? I said. I bring you my car because you are professionals and due to your workmanship my top is damaged and now you offer to replace the top with me paying you more? Naw. Have the owner call me as that is unacceptable. This doesn't sound like good business practice to me - I did my part paying for a professional job, I chose not to put the top on in my driveway, you guys need to stand up. Have the owner call. So, I'm waiting on that call.

Sorry to hear. Can you post pics of the holes and the area as I would like to check mine. Thanks
I'll just have to go with my installer, who has been doing it for over 20 years, that told me Robbins is OEM. The original top that came off my 2000 was a Robbins and, according to the three prior owners, was still the original top from the factory.

I didn't want to say anything since you were happy with the install , but since you found a defect anyway and it will have to be done again , the drivers side panel has too much sag in it . It should have been pulled tighter to remove the sag. They should be tight. Maybe mention that too when they reinstall and I would insist that they do. Good Luck.
