if using the location on the rails you are not supposed to jack from that point alone. Those 4 locations are for a 4 post service lift that will lift the car all at once.
But you didn't really answer the question as to WHY you can't use those locations to jack up the car
do not lift your car from the side using the jacking pucks on the rails. those 4 spots are for 4 post service use only.
That is the only way I have lifted my C5 for 13 years - I am guessing about 75 times - never a problem. The GM Service Manual shows these as recommended lifting points and says nothing about only using them in concert.
T bar, the adapter you show on your C5 with the rear raised up is not altered.
I see on other pic's the front adapter has the extensions and the rear adapter is altered (shorter).
Or is this just on C6 models?
If this is the case then for my C5 I can just order two adapters one for front and one for rear and not have to alter the rear adapter.

I have frame rail savers with built in jacking pucks and these are the lift points I've used to service my wheels/brakes, etc. over the years with no problem.
However, when I put the car on jack stands for an extended period, I use the wood/cross member method and lift from the front, then the rear after driving up on incline ramps.
I'm looking forward to the day I have a 4-post lift!

Once again, what's the difference if you use two at a time to lift the front end of the car up, then move to the rear and repeat the process?
I just slide my race jacks under the jack pucks on either side of the front, lift one side up a few pumps then go to the other side and do the same. I repeat this process until it's up high enough to slide the jack stands underneath. Then I go to the back and do the same. Doing this has my car up on four stands in a matter of a few minutes.
When going on 4 jackstands I raise it in stages starting in front raise to wheels just off the ground. Then rear. Then front and so forth. Take it down the same way. If you are changing oil get the rear a little higher so all oil will drain.
i drive it up on a couple boards so i can fit a jack with a 2x8 board under the front and rear cradle. i jack it up to the lowest height setting on the jack stands first in the front and then the rear while I have someone standing on the brakes to prevent the car from rolling off the boards. After it is on 4 jack stands, I keep raising the car switching between the front and back not going more than about 2 inch intervals. I prefer to put the stands under the cradles, but if you have to remove the cradles, you can put the stands on the frame rails.

This is what I used to do, but my car sits too low now for me to get the board + jack under the front. I don't have a choice but to lift it up using jacks first. Once I get it up on the stands I put a stack of boards underneath for my jack to sit on and use the cradle to lift the car the rest of the way.

after you drive up on the first board, stack up 2 more boards and put them in front of the existing boards and drive up another level. continue until the car is high enough to fit the jack under. this method will work even if your car is an inch off the ground. just have to start with an inch thick board.

The area I have to work on my car is barely longer than the car is. I wouldn't have enough room to do this. That's why I just went ahead and bought two race jacks.
