Well the mail came today and no part from Compliance Parts. He was supposed to call me when it was shipped to let me know how and when it was sent but I haven't heard anything. I assumed it was coming regular express mail since the first one was sent regular mail .Now the only way it could possibly come today is FedEx since UPS doesn't deliver saturday so I'm giving him the benefit of doubt but patience is wearing thin. All companies have to do is keep customers informed and the customers will understand. My wife works for sears as a manager and she constantly talks about keeping the customer informed . When you don't is what costs you customers. I will be watching for FedEx today since they deliver into the evening and hoping Rick comes through because he started out being very helpful. I may have to cancel my appointment for state inspection and it is not easy to reschedule. I will keep you informed .

Thanks for the responses "El original" question. I also have the MN6 and never gave CLB a second thought...guess I have a project on the horizon! I am wondering how many other C5 Corvette owners are delaying a CLB?

I never had the cutoff issue. My CL worked perfectly when I installed the LMC5. I did it more for preventitive maintenance. So it seems you have some other issue to resolve first before installing it. The LMC5 will not solve an exisitng problem. It just bypasses the locking relay and plays nice with the computer.

bj1k; UPS does deliver on Saturday. Will you get it today if it was shipped through them? It depends on how it was sent.

There was no existing problems with this car . It just has 19k. miles . Ironically the installation was just preventative so I wouldn't get the fuel cutoff and because of very poor communication from Compliance Parts it's turning into an aggravating nightmare that should have been very simple. Another day gone by with empty promises. If they are having personal problems I would understand but I don't even get an explanation for all of the delays.

Sorry bj1k... I misunderstood your issue there. Did you try removing it for now? Does it go back to "normal"?

The first module I got gave me the pull key message. I never tried driving it in that state. When I pulled the key and put it back it in everything worked fine. Got the pull key message every time I went to start it.

The second module fixed everything. It was a direct swap - no extra wires to hook up as compared to the original module.

And it wasn't my battery. I had just put in a brand new one.

Hope everything works out for you soon.

Yeah, I also hope you get your issues resolved with Compliance. I had no problems and received my parts within a few days. The LCM5 is a piece of cake to install.

I did get the 'pull key' message recently, however I think it may have been the key. Been using my second key and all is well..

Good luck!

Yeah , I don't know if they are having some kind of problem out there because he was very helpful at first and said he would send a replacement , but then I just never heard anything for over a week . Then I tried emailing him and calling him and it wasn't returned . Then when I did get in touch with him , he said he would call me that night to say that it was shipped . Never got the call and no part on saturday as promised. I'm baffled , doesn't seem to fit with what I heard about this company . It was mostly good. If I had it to do over again , it wouldn't be worth the hassle. Anybody else sell one that actually works without the hassle ?

I guess it depends on your area. I was told by my local driver that most deliveries are not done on saturday , but I have got deliveries from FedEx until around 8

Well , i got the second module today , not as quick as I would have liked but none the less it is in and seems to be working ok so far. I called Rick and he said they were having problems getting the instruction manuals and the first schematic didn't show where the extra wire goes but he cleared that up over the phone. I did get a service ABS brake and traction control message at first , but pulled key wait ten seconds cleared it up. Probably from the battery being disconnected.

Here is a very good thread about the Column lock issue. A "new" battery might not fix the problem. It really needs the "right" battery, one with the correct specifications.

These two videos were made at a Tech session with a world class Corvette technician, Paul Koerner. He also warns about the use of the CLB. The way that it tricks the BCM into thinking everything is good to go can have some detrimental effects to the BCM. Watch the video, both of them, carefully.

I got a 2002 Coupe 6 spd and had the SCL and PK issue. I installed the LMC5 and no longer get the SCL but continue to get the PK message. Richard from Compliance sent me the LMC5R with no change. Richard said there are a few C5s that he's seen with this problem so he's sending me a 5 wire version of his fix. He said if this doesn't fix it, it's probably something in the BCM. As soon as he sends it, I'll install it and post the results.

I thought the LMC5R was the second version with the extra wire ? Thats the one that I just installed and it seems to have fixed my problem.

The LMC5R is a 3 wire unit as well. It's bigger than the original. The new version is especially made for 6 spd vettes. Its a 5 wire and I'm not quite sure where the other two wires connect too. I'll post as soon as I know. Heard from Richard today and he's sending out the 5 wire today.

The more I hear, the more I think I'll just have it tuned out, along with the 2mph cutoff and the 1-4 shift crud and be done with all of 'em.

You can tune out the 2 MPH cut off but not the steering lock. The BCM controls that operation and you a tune does not affect the BCM. Also the shift skip can be taken out with a skip shift jumper kit. Search the forum to find out where you can get it. Its easy to connect.

On the BCM the green connector gets an orange wire and a purple wire from the LMC5R and on the BCM pink connector on the other far end of the BCM you connect the green wire and the black wire without the ground bolt end. The other black wire with the ground bolt on the end connects to the bottom of the BCM bracket. There are two green wires in the pink connector a dark green and a light green , make sure you plug the black wire into the dark green wire slot and the light green wire from the module to the light green wire in the pink connector. It sounds complicated but it is very simple once you have the right module.
