Shine?
For Me there is Nothing that surpasses Zaino
It does not chalk, can be applied to a Black Car in the Nevada desert when its 110 F in the shade or in the sun.

For wax, I use Wet Obsession and apply it by hand only. For my daily drivers, Meguiars, Natty's, and Dodo Juice are among my brands of choice.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

First time I tried Zaino I was blown away. Even my wife immediately noticed the color difference of my 5 yr old red truck (at that time). She is NOT a car person.
Zaino was much easier to remove, no white dust, and no hard buffing to get the polishing lines off the paint. I have been sold on Zaino products for 10 years now.

The Zaino tire shine is the only stuff I found that does not sling crap down the side of my car, and collect dust/dirt on the side walls.
The Zaino leather treatment is by far better than anything that I have tried before. At car shows I have had people stick there head in my window and ask me how I get them to smell like new leather...

I also hear Adam's polishes are very good as well. I am completely sold on the Adam's Metal polish for bare aluminum. I imagine the rest of their products are just as good.

I use to talk on the Phone with Sal Zaino when he was working out of his garage , back in New Jersey. He was so new to this process, he had no means to accept, credit cards, the only way you could get the stuff was to send him a check or a money order and wait for it to clear. This was around 1998/1999. He has come a long way with his great product line.
Here are a couple of tips I've found over the years:
1) Your take off towels ( cotton towels or cotton t-shirts. ) Throw them in the dryer when you start to clean your finish ) Be it a wash with neutral PH Dawn dishwashing liquid... how do you know what a neutral ph. detergent is ? Put some directly in the palm of your hand and squeeze.. if it gets hot in your hand it has too much alkaline in it and its too acidic.. its ok for cleaning a filthy car, but does noting good for the finish below.
2) The next important thing to do is check for surface contaminants that have embedded in the clear coat Most are found toward the front of the car, like bug guts, tar etc. the worst of these contaminants are organic, like bug guts and Poland. they also turn acidic and can etc into the clear coat. you should be able to run your finger tips lightly over the finish and not feel any bumps and the fingers should slide smoothly.. If not, you want to clay the car.. use plenty of lunbricant ( this should take no more than 20/30 minutes.. If you keep your car up, like I do , you rarely have to clay the car.
3) here is another great tip: when I first started using Zaino, I could get about three full waxings out of a bottle. And when I first started it took a long time for the Zaino to dry.. HERE is what I do now, and I can get 6 to 8 waxings out of the same bottle, and with obvious results. here is the trick. I spray gloss enhancer on the front fender and wipe dry, then massage in a drop or two ( only ) of the polish. I spray one of my Zaino cotton pads that I took out of the dryer, and spray with gloss enhancer ( this stay moist on the pad but flashes off on the finish.. I rub the 2 or 3 drops in to the finish with the moistened pad.. It should slide smoothly.. when I feel a little drag I ad another drop or two, just to finish off the front fender. I immediately move to the top. A sprits of gloss enhancer to make sure nothing has fallen on the finish and then massage the top between the front fender and the top, it should take no longer than 8 to ten minutes. once I finish the top, I get a warm towel from the dryer and take off the dry Zaino from the front fender, this takes 2 or 3 minutes max. then I go to the drivers side door( gloss enhance and polish using the 2 drop method ) this takes five minute. then up to the top, take the first towel, throw it back in the dryer and get out a warm one and buff the top. then on to the rear quarter panel ( gloss Polish 5 minutes ) then go to the door , get a warm towel and buff, you only need 2 or three towel in the dryer and two pads..
4) BTW about your towels in the dryer. The reason for the dryer is two fold. One ( and very important ) you want to take all the moisture the cotton absorbs sitting around in your garage.. cotton is like a moisture sponge. ( moisture is one of the4 reason people find Zaino to smear and take a long time to dry.
5) Of course you don't have to use my particular starting point, I sometimes do the hood first, and then the hatch, then start with the front fender.,
This works for me and it doesn't take more than 45 minutes to complete. there is no wasted time in the drying process.. if you use my two drop method and a pad moistened with gloss enhancer, if you put Zaino on thick, you are wasting the product, thin is much better than thick.
I hope this helps.. I've developed this method over the last 13 years, and it works for me.
