It's getting that time of year again and I was just looking for some opinions on any new or existing one-step care car products that gave you uotstanding result and a awsome shine. I'm always looking for a better product.
I'd like to know the same thing from a vey new owner's perspective.
The C5 has been in my possession for a couple months and I've used a cleaner left over from owning a motorcycle. It's the Honda Pro Spray Cleaner and Polish. I've poured over this website to try to get up to speed on owning and caring for a Corvette every day since 12-12 and haven't heard anything about that polish; however, it works wonders on my dark blue vehicle.
Would really like to hear from folks on this procedure, thanks.
I'm a big fan of FW1. It's a great product to help get the bugs off the front of the car, shine it up, and put a layer of wax on it. I simply hand wash my car and give it a wipe down with this stuff. It also works like rainx in the fact that I got stuck in the rain and didn't even have to use the windshield wipers because the rain just beads off.
I don't use one-step cleaner/wax on the 'Vette but I do use it on my other cars. I usually use Meguiar's Flagship Premium Cleaner Wax for a one-step on three of our other cars (although I do use a separate polish and special wax for black cars on my wife's Mazda 6, which is, obviously, black). On the 'Vette, I use a polish and separate wax (currently have some Griot's but Adams, Zaino, Meguiar's, etc. are good). The real secret, though, is not which specific product you use but how it is applied - get and use a random orbital polisher. I have a Griot's but Porter Cable is great, too, as are several others.
Spring is trying to pop which means the polisher will come out of hibernation soon . . .
K9Leader Red cars are faster. They did a study on it.

Humm...just looking at a Harbor Freight random orbital polisher listing in their Easter Day Only flyer priced at $59.95. The reviews posted on their website say good things about that piece of equipment.
Usually the words "One Step" and "outstanding" aren't used in the same sentence. My cousin is a car wax icon and he uses at least a two step process, and much more than that before a carshow.

I use these on my other cars and they are great, But I do the corvette by hand.
I use Turtle Wax Ice paste wax on mine. Leaves no white residue and goes on easy, comes off easy. I've been pleased with it.
I really like those graphics on that blue Corvette!
Sure would like to put that or something similar on my blue one too. Would you please devulge a possible source where beautiful graphics like your Corvette has could be found for mine?

I have been detailing cars for 50 years, Ive tried a lot of products, but nothing comes close to Zaino... All the Maguire's products, Blue Coral, liquid glass, turtle wax.. most of the products chalk up and get white chalk dust everywhere.. I use to use Simonize floor wax back in the 60's. Learned a lot about waxes and Carnaubas etc. I know that Carnauba's break down right around 110 degrees F and don't last
For Me there is Nothing that surpasses Zaino
It does not chalk, can be applied to a Black Car in the Nevada desert when its 110 F in the shade or in the sun.

With all of my Harleys and 'Vettes, I have always had very good results with Meguiar's products. In particular, their NXT wax and their Ultimate Quick Shine detailing wax.
I'm sure Zaino is awesome as we all know that you get what you earn with time and labor invested. I just don't have the time (or the stamina, anymore) to invest in multi-stage, multi-day detailing processes. Not to mention the cost of the products. Whoops, I mentioned it.

Zaino was that way when I first started using it but is a lot easier now. No more two stage. The cost is no more then any thing else.

For just a bit more ~$60 I'd highly recommend going to the Porter Cable version. Will last a lifetime plus is an American company.

I don't agree, waxes today have become very sophisticated. If you try Pinnacle Souverand and compare it to any other wax I guarantee you'll see a drastic difference. Although the best inexpensive wax imo is Meguiar's Ultimate Paste. You can't beat the quality for the price. I just ordered http://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-bl...alant-wax.html - @ $150 it's but I hope to see some serious wetness!
