Sold the vette
I finally decided to sell the vette a couple weeks ago. Posted it on about 6 forums. Within a week had a few interested buyers. Then finally one came to me with cash in hand. SOLD! I have been on the fence about selling for a while now. The car is my daily driver and was just looking for something a bit more practical. I had a great time with the car and you guys have been a big help in everything I have done to it. Just thought I would say thanks! Someday I will be back in a vette for sure. But in the mean time. This is my new love.
Got a pretty could deal on it. Car was in pretty good shape. Though I am very **** with my cars so as soon as I got it I spent 10 hours straight cleaning to get it as perfect as possible. Spent the day with it today changing the oil and getting the underside spotless. The car drives great and its pretty fast. I really do enjoy driving this. The car is a 2006 Mazdaspeed6. These things seem to be getting rare finding one in great shape and under 100k miles. This one has 73k miles on it. I love the trubo and AWD.

Yikes...yeah, as long as your happy man. Mazdaspeed feels fast but if you keep an eye on the speedo you realize it isn't. Short gears makes anything feel fast.
Pretty surprising decision for replacement...no sti...no evo at least!?

Eh, those cars are way over priced and most are ran hard and are rags. My intention was not to replace the vette with something that will outperform it in acceleration.....I did this because I am tired of dumping thousands into a car that something goes wrong with every month. And still making payments on. This one is paid for. With a right bottom end and big turbo this car would give a lot of vettes a run for their money. But that's not what I am aiming for.

you were spending over 1G/month on maintenance on a C5?

I don't use my Vette for a dailey driver, I just use it for club events, car shows and road trips! Good luck and don't be a stranger.

Congratulations on the new ride, A man has to do what a man has to do, I have driven the Mazda 6 before and your statement about getting a car that out performs the Vette I have to wonder about.
Good luck with the new ride and hope it fulfills your needs and wants.

Don't be a stranger! My son has an RX8, and that thing would give anyone a run on an autocross! I think it redlines at 9000 rpm. Anyway, enjoy your new ride. Your C5 was beautiful. Did you let the mini vette go with your car??

I've driven my 155k mile 2001 convert 10,000 miles since I bought it. Had to spend $34 for a rear exhaust hanger last week. My first repair. That thing is eating me alive financially. Time to sell I guess.
