One is the obvious... weight! I'm sure that 20" wheel/tire combo is AT LEAST 10 lbs heavier per corner than the stock 18's or another 18" lightweight wheel. Thats going to rob you of hp and effect braking for sure.

My point was that when tracking my car around cones or down a drag strip, when max performance is required, my car wears dedicated racing shoes. When I am driving to work, rolling down the interstate, and generally driving at less-than-insane speeds, my car doesn't care if it is wearing 20" wheels or 18" wheels.

Actually, you are incorrect on that point. My 20" TSW are within 2-3lb weight diff of my Stock Z06 18"'s.

My point still stands... youre not factoring in the tire which will weigh another 3-5 lbs more. True the TSW wheels are probably some of the lightest wheels out there, and that being true youre still 6-8 lbs over stock..

Read up on how critical rotating mass is
Most of these cars are running 25 series tires with the same overall diameter as a 30 series 19 or 35 series 18 wheel. Which should actually be a lighter tire, not heavier as you're saying.
19x10, and 19x11. Continental ContiSport Contact 3's (275/30-19, and 305/30-19). The car actually drives nicer after the change (smoother). I think its cause my old Goodyear SC's were down to the wear markers.
I did some homework before I got them....
Wheel/Tire weights comparing stock Z06 setup to my new CCW setup.
Factory Z06 setup = Front
...19.2 lbs (02-04 Z06 Front 17x9.5)
...29 lbs(265/40-17)(Goodyear Eagle SC)
...48.2 lbs Total Rear
...21 lbs (02-04 Z06 Rear 18x10.5)
...33 lbs (295/35-18)(Goodyear Eagle SC)
...54.0 lbs Total
CWW - SP500 19/19 setup= Front
...22.5 lbs (19x10 Front SP500)
...26 lbs (275/30-19)(Continental ContiSport 3)
...48.5 lbs Total Rear
