Im going to bring some Old school into this. Here is a flash back from the past circa 1962. In 1962 Chevrolet made an entry level sedan called a Biscayne. It was a step down from the Belaire and two steps down from the impala. The very cool thing about Chevrolet at that time, you could order almost anything in any combination. People bought Biscayne's because they were very inexpensive with cloth bench seats and tiny hubcaps that just covered the lug nuts, the steel wheels were usually painted the same color as the car. Most were no option cars that you could buy for 2100 dollars with a 6 cylinder engine
the very cool part was you could, if you knew anyone at GM. You could buy this car with this stripped down look, but with a dual quad 425 Hp 409. It came with a much better suspension, and upgraded tires and you could order it with a 373 or 411 or 456 rear( from the factory). you could order it with an M22 rock crusher or an M21 or T10 transmission. And of course a 4 speed shifter on the floor, that was almost invisible because of the bench seats. This car looked so plain Jane when the engine wasn't running, you could not really tell is from any other Biscayne. there was only two things that gave it away. Duel exhaust which exited from each side of the car behind the rear wheel and not from the back and that small 409 badge on the front fender. Any young kid who saw one of these and saw that badge got an instant hard on, because they knew what was under the hood. Back in those days Cars were a big part of Americana.

That brought back memories. in '62 my brother and I talked our dad into buying an Impala SS with the 409 and 4 speed. Everything was going great until we snuck it out to the drag strip and destroyed the rear end (dont even ask). We told him it just stopped working and he took into the dealership becuase it was still under warranty. The dealership mechanic just happened to be at the strip that night and informed our dad. No need to mention that after he had to pay for rear replacement, my brother and I were in deep deep $&#t.
I wanted something that wasn't to big and flashy but says whats in the car. I'm still waiting on Austin to send me some ideas. I won't put the HP on the emblem as my hp level changes ALL the time.
I still cant decide weather to remove or keep, I've been badge less for 5 years.

Have Austin come up with a badge that has a "?" behind the HP.
Blitz', I'd be proud. Seems like alot of people care about your yellow beauty.
Yea these guys do seem to care and have had a lot of compliments on the car and my mods. You can't please everyone, I like simple and clean looking mods. There are a tone of beautiful Vettes just on this forum, it's hard to compete with some of the guys on here.
I've decided to leave the emblems on till at least next weekend after the 1/2 mile event in Monee IL. I"ll see what people there say about them.
