Default How much oil between changes?

I have never had to add a single drop of oil to my 2004 coupe. Actually I have never added anything but windshield washer fluid. I have put 12K on it and I have changed the oil twice. It was at the same mark on the stick as the day it was refilled both times. It will see several w.o.t. shifts a month so it's not like I don't play around a bit. It now has 93K on it.

Is this typical?

Nope! I've never heard of any corvette owner having to add windshield washer fluid!

Actually my car uses next to no oil.

I've never added any oil between changes to mine either. I change oil once a year.

The only fluid i've needed to add was freon and its really a gas most of the time. Come to think of it I add gas quite often and its a fluid most of the time. Now that's deep

my old 1990 burned a quart every 1000 miles. did it on the stock engine, did it on the built engine

this 2002 z06 doesn't use any

haven't done a track day yet but i'd be surprised if it uses more than a few ounces in an HPDE

My 2001 need a quart added between oil changes for several YEARS. It's my daily driver. Once I got to about 100,000 I added a catch can and I don't need that quart between oil changes. I really don't know if it was the catch can or just the engine finally settled in.

15 years with mine. The windshield washer fluid is another story, it bleeds out at high speed, I do not keep it full.

rr
That was about the same on my previous '01 - about a quart between oil changes approx. every 7K miles and did up until I had sell it w/ 50K on it. My recent purchase of an '04 I don't know yet as I've only had it for 3 months and put about 600 miles on it.
I did hear that for some reason the '01s used some oil where most of the other years didn't !

The gen 1 and gen 2 small blocks went through a bit of oil, usually it was via a leaky rear main, or other seal. The LS engines seal up great. I've been in, under and around well over 30 C-5 and C-6 corvettes and still haven't seen one that leaked or burned oil. I have one 2001 that has well over 100,000 miles and the bottom of the engine is still oil free.

My 110k mile 2002 coupe does not use oil either. Even with a Vortech V3 at 10 PSI and no catchcan, it doesnt use oil, it doesnt puff on deceleration, The oil level stays right where it is supposed to.

Factory fill Mobil 1 every time of course.
