The C7 is growing on me,possibly more so in a different color. However, I can't get over the rear hatch glass as it cries 370Z all over it,and that car is just plain hideous. The C5 needs no ballyhoo, it is a timeless design.

It doesn't really look dated to me, it just looks like a different car. Maybe I'm crazy.

I think it's interesting how the lines and details of the C7 body make it look a lot chunkier and taller than the slender C5, but when you look closely they're actually about the same size.

The main thing I dislike about the C7 is the rear. The lights I can live with, but I don't know why they had to make the venturi vents connected with the lights. Maybe if it was color matched with the paint it would look okay.

Then the black area of the bumper is 50% of the area, if not more. I would prefer most of the bumper to be body color, and maybe a small black defuser at the bottom.

Then the 4 exhaust tips. Maybe because there's no gap in the center, or because the tips are so large, but it looks silly. Sort of like it's saying "I HAVE MORE EXHAUST THAN YOU!". Two tips coming from the center would be cleaner. Even the 3 that ferrari does on the 458 looks strange.

I am seeing a trend here, Most of the members that have had the C5 for years are starting to think the C5 is a bit Dated, and the new owners don't feel that way and I understand that being a new owner.

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE my C5Z !
And I have no intentions of selling it.

Its just how things work.... the new Vette comes out and the older version looks dated.
Its not a bad thing. Its just what it is...

I'm still a HUGE fan of my ride.
It took me 9 years to make it what it is today.
I'm not selling now !

It's funny you can see the same remarks in other sections, that you see here about the particular generation they own.

Mine is a timeless design, (speaking about the next Gen)-I don't want all the electronics, I don't like the new butt, I don't like the tail lights, I don't like the seats.

But as soon as they get one a few years down the road,

It's

It's a timeless design, I don't want all the new electronics, I don't like the lights, I don't like the seats, it looks to European,

All over again.

Those who have had several generations will know what I'm saying.

I was reading this same exact stuff in C6 Gen just yesterday.

Personally I didn't think the C5 look dated at all until I seen this picture of them together. That's why I love the Hardtop.

It may not be timeless but it will always be unique

I love the C5 and always will and haven't been a C7 fan but that photo just made me change my way of thinking. Plural wives.
I really like it. Thanks for sharing!

The front of the C5 looks like a Firebird and the rear of the C7 looks like a Camaro. Coincidence?

I have already been offered enough to buy a new C-7 with money
to spare. But I like my C-5 and I will stick with what I like. The
C-7 is striking to look at because it is new and some folks always
veer toward the new. That's ok all classes of vettes were once new.
And it's up to each of us to treasure our vette. Whether it's a C-1
all the way up to a C-7.

Best pics I've seen of the 5 and 7 side by side. I absolutely love the looks of both and can't wait to take similar shots in my driveway later this year.

Wow! Nice contrast!

I really do like the new C7 Vette! Love my C5 too!

Maybe I will just have to get a new C7 too!
The C7 does look massive next to the C5!

Thanks,Matt

I'm growing to like the C7 the more I see it. I definitely like the interior and I really like the front end/lights. The rear is the part that needs to grow on me. I actually like the much discussed rear tail lights, especially after seeing them light up, but I'm finding it difficult to get past the rear window which IMO looks like a Chrysler Crossfire.

I also think the car looks better in the darker colors like blue, black and cyber gray so that the black rear diffuser/bumper doesn't jump out so much.

To me personally I love the lines on a c5, if I upgrade its going to be a c6. I really dont care for the rear of the c7. Hoping it grows on me when I see one in person
