Best pics I've seen of the 5 and 7 side by side. I absolutely love the looks of both and can't wait to take similar shots in my driveway later this year.
I agree with VETJAZZ. Except for the part where a similar shot will taken later this year in my driveway. Maybe in 5 yrs.
It's going to be a few years before C7's on the used market get to a price point I'm comfortable with for a weekend car, so I've got plenty of time for the looks to grow on me, as I'm sure they will. Until then, my C5 coupe will do just fine, because I think it's still one of the best looking cars on the road.
still don't like the c7 rear end. like the rest of the car though. first time i've seen a japanese influence in the corvette styling via the sharp angles
I remember when the C5s came out back in '97. I couldn't take my eyes off of them. I thought the car looked amazing- particularly coming off the C4. The big rear end was almost startling. I liked the car right away and I still love it today. I wonder if others had the same reaction or did the C5 have to 'grow on them'? Did the 63 split window have to 'grow on' anyone? There are certain aspects of the C7 that I like but am I very disappointed that I didn't instantly love this car. But I guess it will eventually grow on me and that's good enough, right?

Great pics. The C5 still looks great after all these years, but I have to say GM did a great job on the C7. I was able to view and sit in three C7s at Bloomington Gold and it is one fine car. In a couple of years, I hope one will be in my garage.
The C7 is starting to grow on me. Especially that red color and interior combination.
We'll see what the C7 Z06 turns out to be, rumor has it that it will be unveiled next January along with the C7R.
These pictures make me realize just how great looking the C5 still is.
This side-by-side comparison just saved me a bunch of money!
I would take a C7. It is better than the C6 (not saying much IMO), but I prefer the sexier-sleeker lines of the C5. Think I will stay with what I have.

To me the C5 does look a bit dated, something just a few years into the future compared to the C7. If I had never seen either one before and saw them both in a showroom tomorrow, I would choose the C5 based on exterior look, I am guessing the C7 "interior" will be a step up from the C5 however, just based on materials used if nothing else.
Thanks for the pics! I'm still waiting for the C7 to grow on me.
As I read all the comments, I couldn't help but wonder if the ones that like the C7 would have the same opinion of the car if it wasn't wearing a Corvette badge.
The C5, beautiful from every angle. Classic flowing lines front, rear, sides, top everything flows. The C7 not so, it's like someone tried too hard or there were 4 different design teams that each included a different section. The roof team, the fender team, the god awful rear end team, etc. If I ran GM I'd fire the Corvette exterior design manager Kirk Bennion. The most common statement regarding the C7 (especially on this forum) should not be "it's starting to grow on me". It should be "I must to have one".
Now having said that, I hope that someday I'll be able to own one (a convertible preferably). I like the technology not the looks. .

I think the C5 is still such a timeless design. I don't think it looks older even sitting next to a C7. First of all, the C7 looks chunkier and heavier. Even though the dimensions might be the same or similar, it gives the illusion of being bigger. All the character lines of new car design in general will tend to make new cars look older and dated faster. The C5 still looks sleek and smooth. All that being said, I like the C7 for the most part but I'm not dying to get into one. My Z06 still excites me every time I get into it, even after owning it for 10 years. Many people who see it have no idea it is as old as it is. I haven't even mentioned the C6. That's because I didn't like their looks when I first saw them and I still don't. I thought eventually I'd get used to it but that never happened. On the other hand, the very first time I saw a C5, I fell in love with it immediately, and I still feel the same.
