I saw a Ferrari earlier today and from the side profile it looked for the world like the new C7. Was headed to the airport and not able to snap a picture in time.....
So would I by a C7 .......... Definitely not at this time, I would rather have my second Corvette as a late model C6Z06 or a '69 '70 '71 C3 restored just sayin!
To me the C7 looks cartoon-ish, transformer-like, hard angular lines, in your face garish. The people that like the Transformer Bumble Bee Camaro probably will like the C7. Also that new Corvette emblem is so freaking huge, like wings or something, again transformer style. And I realize they are trying to get the younger crowd. To each their own I guess.
But if you look at the cars that people say are classic designs, i.e. Bugatti Type 57 S Atlantic, Tucker, Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gull wing, Dusenberg, etc. They all have flowing curves, softer lines, classic designs that will always look great.
But at least the Corvette lives on! An American Icon baby!!
They both look great. I'm really liking the C7. Other than the tail light not being round, it doesn't look that much like a Camaro. The tail lights actually look good to me. I think the C7 is super sexy. In a couple of years it's mine. Torch Red Vert
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the pics. The rear end is going to have to grow on me too. I wonder if John Cafaro was in on the design of the C7. From reading the book "All Corvettes Are Red" it does not appear that he was into the "transformer" look of the C7. Still a nice car, but I do prefer the sleeker look of the C5 at this point.
I have not yet warmed up to the C7. To many lumps and bumps for my taste and the rear is way too busy. No doubt it's a better car than my C5, but not better looking, IMHO.

Going back and looking at the pics again.
1. From the front, some of the subtle elegance of my C5.
2. From the side, it looks brutally powerful to me.
3. From the back, it looks like a two stroke motorcycle sounds.
I wish this forum was around when the C5 came out so I could read all the owners of the C4 stating,
That butt is hideous.
Because then Corvette people loved that little C4.
No Way, C5 is beautiful no matter what the C4 looks like. C7 exterior is just a failed attempt at 21st century, world class, super car styling. GM should fire the exterior design team and outsource the next Corvette design to Peninfarina or some other designer.

Your kidding right? I think GM hit a homerun with the C7, Kinda makes my C5 look that much more dated.
I've seen the C7 in person, and it looks great in person. Even if you don't like its looks, you cannot deny its an upgrade in every aspect you can measure a car by. Aero, Performance, Interior materials, MPG, HP/Tq....it'll be a huge winner for GM.
The pictures looked pretty good till I got to the back. Man is the rear of the C7 ugly. So glad to be the owner of a 2013 Grand Sport, there's no C7 in my future and no desire.

Well Mr. Bill it's like this. So great was the anticipation and huge was the build-up to the C7 debut that I was sorely disappointed with the design settled upon. Now don't get me wrong I love everything Corvette does to bring world class auto enjoyment to average guys like me. And the technological advances that I've read about on the C7 are not disappointing in the least. Like I posted earlier when the C5 debuted it was instant attraction. The C7 it has to grow on you? That's what I keep reading--"it's starting to grow on me". Well I did have to acquire a taste for scotch and that worked out well. Check out this roof design http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...9QEwAw&dur=137 Do you think that AMC got it right in 1965 or do you think it's Corvette dropped the ball in 2013? I say it was ugly in '65 and just as ugly today.
I think that the convertible looks a lot better.
Anyway, like I always say "everybody is entitled to their own opinion".
