The more I see a C7 without a spoiler the more I like it .
I am at 3300 without Z51 .. Night Race Blue / Kalahari
I had planned to install the non-Z51 but may not so now..
Thanks for the photos .. Hope to be riding by late Aug. or
early Sept .. Vette Ed
Nice comparison pics. I like the angular lines of the C7 I'm just not a fan of all of the black vent grills, especially on the hood. I think it just breaks up the car too much. I would like to see the car with paint matched grills, particularly the hood and rear topside vents behind the doors. I do like that they are functional though. With more generations of corvettes, the C5's design just becomes that much more timeless. It will be interesting to see what the aftermarket comes out with to meet the tastes of the C7 owners. It will be interesting to see how many companies come out with a different rear end and just how many owners will change them since that seems to be so controversial.
I hate to say it but I think the dodge boys outdid themselves with the viper redesign and from a looks standpoint beat the C7 design.
the c7 is wicked! It looks nothing like the c5. I think GM stole most of their ideas from the aventador and mixed it with curves of the c-3...can't wait to see the other offerings like a z06
did some quick digging on google and found this...to me the C5 for being a "dated"as the common word used around here the design of the C5 for being drawn up in the late 80's to early 90's has held up pretty well imo. Now I for one don't car much for the c6 base cars, as they are too plain for me, the GS, Z06 and ZR1 are just amazing and not seeing a C7 yet in person I would love to own one some day, as I think they whole car flows well and will still be a head turner just like every other vette on the road
granted this is just a rendering but still pretty neat shot
I keep hearing more people saying that the C7 is starting to grow on them so how do you think people seeing it for the first time on the road are going to see it, people that are not particularly into Corvettes ? You will think it is great and they will think it is ugly. In my opinion they hit their peek with the C5 because they don't get any better than that and mine is paid for and it don't get any better than that !

If I didn't know the C7 was a Corvette, I'd think it was something a bit more exotic/European. Comparing these two are like comparing a C1 to C4.
In this case, a comparison between a C6 and C7 would be more apropos.
They both look great, though.
They dont look a bit alike. Very cool picture though. I'm looking forward to seeing one in person.
The C7 does not look bad in the right colors and wheel combos. I was never a fan of the blacked out look and the original C7 unveiling was all blacked out.
Can't wait till Car lisle this year to see new C7.

The C5 does not look dated at all.... until you park one next to a C7....

What he said. I love my C5 but two generations forward makes the changes quite noticeable. Funny thing about cars and design in general. They move back and forth between smooth rounded lines and harder edges. I still remember when the first Ford Taurus came out and its rounded jellybean design was so revolutionary. It's like painted textured walls and wallpaper. Wait long enough and what was old is once again new. (or at least elements of it).
