Front end lighting question

Has anyone ever used some LED plug and play bulbs in their foglights?
I was browsing that auction site, and saw they sold bulbs that were for these applications in a C5, requiring no ballasts, etc. Just swap the bulbs.
I'm wondering what sort of light output they have and longevity? I rarely use my head/fog lights, just during the occasional bad weather. But I'm looking to get a true white light as opposed to the older yellow output currently seen.
LED bulbs emit a pure color, but most of them are significantly dimmer than their halogen counterparts. I'm only starting see R&D on LED bulbs that are as bright or brighter than halogen but they won't be available for fog lights for some time due to size requirements.
The best way to get pure 5000K color is with an HID light source and to be effective HID bulbs require projector optics like this:
Our Bi-xenon ACA headlights are the best performing lighting setup for the C5 ever designed. They use the projector for both high and low beams with only one HID bulb required per side instead of two. The improved projector optics allow you to see over 70 degrees of horizontal spread while also significantly increasing your long distance vision.
