My 2004 was totaled about 2 weeks ago. I was at a dead stop and this gal rear ended me going 50 mph. I walked away from the wreck, the vette likely saved me from serious injury.
Thinking of two replacement alternatives:
1) by a black C5 convertible, automatic, pull parts from my C5 and create a cruiser.
2) by a C7, not really thrilled about spending the cash and in 3 yrs my ride would look like all the other C7

Link no workie.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your car, but glad you managed to walk away from the wreck. (How the hell does someone manage to rear end someone while going 50mph........aren't the 4 large red lights on the back of a Corvette big enough?)
As for the options, I don't think I would go with either, instead I would look for a mint 2008-2010 C6. Low mileage ones are around the $30K mark now.
If it is totalled they aren't going to let you take the parts are they? I assume it is not in your possession? Or are you going to jump the fence where it is kept and house your own parts back?

That's the one thing that scares the hell outta me. I've been hit once by a guy fiddling with his cellphone and another fiddling with his car stereo....neither in the vette...but....

Get the newest model you can afford. Be patient, once the initial hype is over, dealers will get off the MSRP+ notion and discount the 2014's.
If money was no problem I would buy a 2013 427 vert before I would but a C-7. When the 84 Corvette was brought out people paid way over sticker just because it was a model change and was a all new car like the C-7 will be. GM has got the problems worked out of the C-6 cars.
You certainly have some options though... The leap between your proposed options seems pretty vast though... Auto C5 Vert or C7... If it were me I would take a stab at the Stingray! The auto mags have been raving about it and the tech packed into it is pretty remarkable for GM. The 2013 GS 427 is a nice option too but if its money you are worried about grab a C6Z for a few years then jump into a C7.
Boy I surprise myself with how decisive I can be.... NOT hahah
