With the insurance settlement you should be able to get any 'Vette you want.

If I were in that situation and got a decent settlement from the C5, I would make the jump to a C7.

You listed an automatic in your first post . . .so, I'm guessing either you may have a slight leg/back injury that makes you reluctant to have a manual- or as was my case whn I got my C5- just tired of shifting.

You've enjoyed a C5 - - and face it, no other C5 you buy will be as great as the one that was wrecked - -so why not try something else?

I'm not sure how deep your pockets are- but if I were in your shoes, I'd get a 2006 or newer C6 equipped as you want it, and drive it for a few years while the C7 shakes out it's new prodution issues . . . then buy one when they're affordable - - or when you grow tired of your 'new' C6.

Glad you weren't seriously injured . . .please accept my suggestions made with all due respect.

First off,I'm glad your ok. Now to your questions, you can buy mine for the right price, and then I'll jump to a C6. Mine has a newer ls6 w'38k on it,l5 rears,CCW's,Carravaggio rear spoiler. There's this '08 C6 for 90k I'm wanting with 1100hp,but I know I can't afford it. Never mind,I'll just keep mine. Good luck with your decision. L8R ZFLASH

Glad to hear you are OK.
Not to sound like an alarmist or an ambulance chaser, but even if you feel ok, go get checked out. I was rear ended under similar circumstances 30 years ago [I stopped at the yellow because I knew it was a short yellow, woman behind me was completely focused trying to beat the light and plowed her Monte Carlo into the back of my Datsun 280Z while still accelerating], and have had neck and back problems for the last 20 years. Might have been related, might not. Regardless, I'd get checked out.
If my C5 were totaled, I'd probably look for a late model C6 with low miles.

Sorry about your car and glad you came out of it ok.

I would buy a nice 2008+ C6 Z06 before the 1st year C7
I am worried with all of the "tech" in the C7 it will be like a beta version of a windows program...depending on the user to give input about the bugs in the product....

Consider motorcycles . You are not walking away from that one. If she is found guilty of texting when she hit him, it should be loss of license for life before it costs someone else their life.
