yeah , had to put gas in the 2000 today , needs gas about every 13 months . i'm always impressed with the car it is really a nice car . we sold the 66 and replaced it with a 2004 vert and then put some michelin tires on it but i still think the 2000 to be nicer and the 10 year old firestone firehawks are probably quieter than the new michelins . . .peace
Maybe , but right now everyone seams to want low miles and all stock when they buy. Why is that ??
It doesn't take a rocket surgeon () to figure that out. Low mileage yes, almost no mileage, no f**king way. Spend $50,000 on a car, leave it sit 99% of the time then sell it for $3000 over the book value of $20,000 gives you a loss of $27,000 not counting insurance etc. I don't know where you got your economic savvy, but it wasn't where I got mine.

If I was looking to buy another C5, low miles and all stock is exactly what I would want!
My guess is that this post did not go where you expected?
I don't care if you drive the car..its yours
I do have one question..10 year old tires is a bad recipe. They probably have a lot of tread but unlike fine wine they go bad with age. I would be careful with that.
I also will share a thought-
You marry the prettiest / hottest chick in town. Would you abstain from relations with her except as needed to have children? That way she is in perfect condition for the next guy?
the next guy will be happy you did but life is short you gotta live it
Doesn't matter if it has 300 miles you really think people are going to spend that cash for a c5? Seriously a c5? They will not go up in value and if someone does sell a "pristine" car it still won't be worth that much over on with a **** ton of miles. Some of these cars will be hitting 20 years old soon. Go look at the c4's with almost no miles they are in the teens. Maybe in 50 years and then they may be high teens and a wipe out of 90% of c5's then maybe. I would never ever buy "pristine" mass produced car when for the same price or lower I can get the next generation up. Don't kid yourself thinking this will be the next Supra, Ford GT, Viper, etc etc..The only one I can see is maybe a c5z but the run of the mill c5...Hell no...Quote this 50 years from now...

we have 4 cars , 2 c5's , wifes daily driver , sons 97 honda vcr [station wagon] . the daily driver is 20 months old and has about 11,000 miles . the honda is 16 years old and has 61,000 miles . if i drive it is usually sons honda . i used to drive the vettes to see sister and mother-in-law but they both have died as have my two brothers . i also lost my job 13 years ago so don't drive to work . my point being , i rarely have any where to go so don't drive . the low miles have nothing , or little , to do with maintaining vehicle value . . .peace
An interesting post, I hope your life is full and happy (it sounds like retirement heaven, "for some") I expect to do my lifes work till they take my boots off Mostly because I enjoy it.
Lots of other opportunities in life. Family, service to others. Travel, exploration and education too. I would think a couple of pleasant drives a month (in both c5 ) with the beautiful seat cover would be in order, If nothing else, for the benefit of the cars overall "health".
Health and happiness to you and yours.

Like you, I have 4 cars and no REAL place to drive to on a regular basis. My daily driver is an '09 sedan and it has 15K on it. We work hard at getting 1500 mi. a yr on our 03 vette. Right now the wife (no pics) has the vette out running errands putting 10 mi on it and that will probably be it for the week!!
So I understand your driving routine. If you enjoy the car, like looking at in the garage when you take the garbage out at night (as do we), so be it.
FINALLY , a voice of reason . didn't buy the 2000 to make money , bought it because we like to see a blue vette in the garage [and to drive on occasion ] and her 66 nassau blue coupe was always covered . bought the 2004 because her knees got to bad to use the clutch in the 66 so sold it and bought the 2004 [ the 2000 is always covered now ] . got a vert because that is what she wanted . she has driven it with the top down and i haven't and NEVER will . . .peace . .ps. thanks for the entertainment . . .peace , again
The bad part is people think these things will be worth someonething one day like the older ones. They mass produced these like socks. Get out and drive
I have a buddy with a '97 Coupe and with only 32k miles. He's the same way. It had been sitting so long in his garage that there were spiderwebs on the torque tube.
I kept peer pressuring him to drive it and he finally broke down and did. First day out, the rear main seal started leaking, then I told him that what happens when you don't drive it and it's not a collectors car and you won't get more that $16k for it on resale so start driving it.
