Default drove the 2000 today

yeah , had to put gas in the 2000 today , needs gas about every 13 months . i'm always impressed with the car it is really a nice car . we sold the 66 and replaced it with a 2004 vert and then put some michelin tires on it but i still think the 2000 to be nicer and the 10 year old firestone firehawks are probably quieter than the new michelins . . .peace

13 months and one tank of gas? Why even bother to own it. Just buy a picture of a C-5 and put it on the wall.

My 1999 vert is real nice and quiet also. I'll trade you my 99 for your 04 plus $3,000 if you're interested. Lol. BTW, what tranny do you have auto or manual.

Classic Car Collector experts recommend that you drive the car at least 1,000 miles a year just to keep all the fluids, seals, gaskets etc. up.

They say that even for the most expensive and rarest of vehicles.

Get it out and have some fun with it. They are great driving cars!

Poor Poor Corvette. All she wants is to hit the roads and be driven!!

To each his own, but I can't pry myself out of the drivers seat!

Your car, your money, but seems like a lot of missed opportunities to drive a great car.

and the low miles C5s that haven't had the crap beat out of them are getting harder and harder to find. Just a matter of time before the price of a pristine C5 starts to go higher. When will that be? I don't know and neither do any of these other guys.

I'm not taking the side of don't drive the cars nor am I advocating driving the wheels off it. I wont bad mouth a guy that has one sitting in his garage and burns a tank of gas a year or a guy that drives one 100K miles a year. Makes me no difference, it's his car.

It's your car and how much you drive or don't drive it is your business. But I see some future fuel system problems for you and your car. At a minimum I would add stable to the tank every time you fill it up, especially if it's only filled once a year. Gummed up injectors do not work well.

we have 4 cars , 2 c5's , wifes daily driver , sons 97 honda vcr [station wagon] . the daily driver is 20 months old and has about 11,000 miles . the honda is 16 years old and has 61,000 miles . if i drive it is usually sons honda . i used to drive the vettes to see sister and mother-in-law but they both have died as have my two brothers . i also lost my job 13 years ago so don't drive to work . my point being , i rarely have any where to go so don't drive . the low miles have nothing , or little , to do with maintaining vehicle value . . .peace
