Help - iPhone music and head unit ERROR
Need help!!! I have the single cd stock head unit and PHXGM4 for over a year now with no issues and out of the blue when I connect my iPhone up to play music it will connect and play the music for maybe 25 seconds before it drops the iPhone and converts to play radio!!?? CD player and radio works and my iPhone will play the music constantly UNTIL I hook it back up to my PHXGM4 HU after 12 seconds of music play HU displays ERROR and cuts off?? Even though it stops play it still charges the iPhone Any ideas guys?? Thanks for any help.

Please let us know what you found. I just installed one of these.
Start easy first, check the connection points outside ie. Iphone jack and plug. I agree with Mr. Bill and checking the hidden connections (reseat them). I would also double check those little micro switches. Possibly switching them a few times in the event they have a little corrosion internally. Good luck, gotta rock!

Mine has done the same thing, for me it seems to be linked to dead or disconnected battery. If I disconnect the battery from the car, or the battery goes dead, and then hook battery back up or charge battery, then the iPhone/Pod aux quits working. Over time it starts working again. I have taken the unit out and inspected all the wires and hook ups, found no problems. It will work fine until I accidentally leave a light on and run battery dead, or unhook the battery due to working on something, after battery in back on or charged, it stops working again. ERROR is what shows up on the display.

If it happens again, maybe give Dennis at Double D Mods a call and just pick his brain on this. He knows a lot about the C5 stereo systems and maybe can point you in the right direction.
