Default Confused about tires / wheels

Had a track day last weekend and finished off what's left of my tires. I'm at tirerack and there aren't many options for the c5z 17/18. I want to switch to 305 in the back which really complicates things apparently.

So my question.. if I switch to a squared 18" c5z wheels setup, what size tires do you guys recommend? If I stay 17/18, again, what brand tires can I get with 305 in the back instead of 295?

If you're going with a square wheel setup, I'd suggest also going with a square tire setup, allowing you to rotate tires front to rear:

The only reason I was considering switching to a squared setup was so I had more tire choices. I'd rather not if I didn't have to.

toyo r888 will fit stock wheels

so will the nitto nt05 if you want something harder

don't really "need" to go squared unless you want better street and rain choices. if you went squared you could do something like the 285 35 18 michelin pss front and rear

The R888s look interesting but I daily drive my car and don't want to have to deal with them in the rain. Do the NT05s come in stock sizes?

I run squared 18x10.5 Speedlines on the street....295/35 rear and 275/35 front
For the track I run another set of 18x10.5 squared Speedlines with 315/30 NT01's on all 4

Any issues with steering with the 18" front?

No issues with steering at all....no rub issues with the factory front brake ducting either...even with the 315/30 up front on my track set up
