I have a very unusual question. About a week ago, I burned a CD. The CD plays fine in my home Bose unit and in my 2008 Infiniti G37. I also have a 2004 Z06 vette. To my surprise when I tried to play the CD in the Z06 it doesn't play. Has anyone ever experienced this or know what could be causing the issue?
Thanks
Thanks everyone. Actually my wife burned it so I asked her and she did say it was MP3. I guess I am wondering why it plays every where except in the vett??

Older CD players do not play MP3 format. They don't play in my 2003 GMC truck either.
MP3 formatted CDs weren't commonly used in 2003-4 so not supported in those era stock players in autos.
Another issue that caused problems replaying in autos was the laser type used. Some couldn't read certain disks with colored coatings. I had to try several different brands in my old '97 until I found one that worked. IIRC the green and blue colored discs didn't but the gold ones worked fine.
Ok hb4lthr, give this a shot. Had the same issue here. Cleaning didn't fix. All my CDs are CD-Rs. The problem is related to the brand of CD you're using. I was using some Phillips silver CD-Rs and while they play on everything else I own, they would NOT play in the Vette's Bose HU. I could experiment with a few things and on rare occasion get one to work for a little while. It has to do with the chemicals and reflectivity of the brand CD-Rs you're using. Just try a different brand/type and you'll find they work fine. In my case, I used some cheap-john HP CD-Rs I got a couple of years ago for $5 for spindle of 50 at a Black Friday sale. Guess what? Everyone of them works PERFECTLY in the Bose Hu.
To address another question, there is a free CD/DVD burning program called Deep Burner that will convert your MP3s into correct audio format. Just run it, select Create Audio disc, copy your tracks to the program that you wanted included on the CD and then click burn. Easy peasy. If you need a link to it, here you go: http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download
Any questions, just holler. I do IT support work for a living for almost 30 years now.
