Well get what you want but remember if you get a c6 your just gonna mod the **** out of it so if you have money to burn go for it. And if I was to get a c6 it would be the c6z. They can be had for mid to high 30's for a 06-07. Just make sure the heads don't have the guide issues

That's $7K this winter. I didn't mention $10K last spring and $8 K the year before

The C6Z is nothing like the C5Z... I drove my friends VY 06 C6Z with H/C/I... It made 560/530.. It is an amazing car and totally refined.. My C5Z is just RAW and in your face... I would want to have a C6Z as a DD.... and just leave it alone (Like I could do that).... To me, you are going to mod it anyway... Is your c5 paid for? Will you be paying cash for the C6? Or will there be a lein on the car? In terms of selling, trading. Will you get what you already have in the C5? Have you really thought it through or you just gum bumpin..? Cannot go wrong either way... Just my .02...

well with the power the c6Z puts out stock and or with very little mods I would be well over what power my c5 is putting out now.. so if were talking power wise and cost c6z takes it for sure... was planning to do minor bolt ons if ever i do get a c6z and leave it as it is ... my c5 still has a lien but should be paid off in 2 years which is when I will start deciding to get a c6z or not... just brought up this subject because my car just finished pretty much all of its initial bolt on mods.. [ls6 intake/heads custom cam full exhaust tune SAE 396hp/386tq]...

I wanted to get opinions on whether i should proceed trying to get over 500hp on my c5 (goal over 600hp) or if i should just stop now drive it till i pay it off swap back stock parts and trade in or sell then use that money for a down payment on a c6z... I just find it real hard to get over 500 on the ls1 with the type of budget I have...i think it would just be easier to move on to a c6z otherwise the c5 would be perfect for me already. darn this mod bug!! but i know itll be a while though before i see a c6z in my garage.. im just tryna save myself from spending more.... thanks for all the response guys!

Ive been in the same boat as you for the past two years. After I tallied up a cost to get a c6 the way I want i should just save and get a c6z

I've Come to realize that after modding the c5 the way I want it to look and to come close to power the c6z would have .. I'd have spent about half if not more of the cost of what a c6z would have cost me used .. So I guess I'm leaving the c5 the way it is now.. Enjoy every minute and mile on it, save my chips and when the time comes hop on a c6z !
