[Z06] Z16 Identification

Default Z16 Identification

Ok. I’m in the market for another Z06. I may be looking at a Z16 although I’m not necessarily in the market for a Z16. I have a question on identification. I know that the RPO code should be listed on the sticker in the glove box but is there another way to make certain it’s a Z16? Can this be done with the VIN?

Another thing. Is there any carbon fiber that can be seen on the hood? Is the carbon fiber in the hood strip actual carbon fiber from the hood or is that a decal? If it’s a decal is there another spot where the carbon fiber is visible?

Not sure how to tell in the VIN#.
The carbon fiber is not visible on the hood, the decal looks like it, but it's only a decal.

I know mines real.....came right off the showroom floor.

The carbon on the hood is part of the decal. There is no carbon visable, but you can tell by the weight, about half of the regular C5 hood.

* Carbon Fiber hood (flexes ALOT more then a Fiberglass one when closing it)
* Black interior
* 24hr Com. Badges on hood/trunk
* Stripes
* LeMans Blue (Obviously)
* Emits a Ora of Awesomeness... May have an attractive Young lady in a bikini Posing on the hood.. <--- Definatly a Z16 at that point, no quetion!
* Valad Z16 Vin (listed Above)

These are the only Z16 ever made. If you dont have the list know that:

The 6th VIN digit got be a 1 for hardtop.

The 8th VIN digit got be a S for LS6.

The 10th VIN digit got to be a 4 for 2004.

Im new to the C5 family, and I don't know if Z16 clones are being made. On the C4s there are many Grand Sports clones out there. The C4 LT4 Grand Sport also has their unique VIN.

Thanks for the replies guys. Like I said, I'm not looking strictly for a Z16 but if I get to the point of buying one I'd just like to be certain that's what it is.
