Second, I'm cool with used, but the only ones that pop up are the same three styles that EVERYONE has. I prefer to be different. Honestly if CF member INXS were to ever sell his, that is what I would want (the T1000). I do like the Classics though, just wanted 19's out back which you can't get...

I've been watching for I-Forged, 360 Forged, HRE, etc...in the used market. Hard to come by with the proper specs for me. But I have time, so I'll keep diligently watching.
They aren't for everyone, can't hold that against you.

They are definitely a pain to keep clean and polished!

There are several members on the forum that have them, but in your local area I'm sure they are not common.

I sold my CCW SP500s because I track my car and I didn't want to get them all bunged up. I also got very sick of polishing them. I guess I'm just not a bling wheel guy.

I replaced the CCWs with two sets of C5 Z06 wheels. One is in stock sizes all around for street tires and the other has four rears for slicks. With the proceeds from the SP500s I bought all eight wheels, new NT05s, and a set of scrub slicks with plenty of life left in them.

tak06, those are on my short list too if I can't get forged. In fact your car has been a big reason I keep going back to them. My '04 is silver too, so it makes it easy to visualize. I just really want a deep lip and have been thinking gunmetal with a polished lip lately. What SVT Bait showed earlier is on par with my line of thinking. Mesh or multi-spoke, multipiece forged.

I guess I need less help in wheel opinions than maybe the OP, I just need to find the right deal. I kinda feel like I hijacked Pvtjoker21's post. Sorry man!

Nurburgrings are Rotary Forged. The rim of the wheel is forged at high pressure while the wheel is spun at high speed. This alters the molecular structure & enhances the strength of the alloy. The benefit is a much lighter weight than a regular cast wheel.

1. You want to be different.
2. You have been looking for Iforged, 360 and HRE.
3. You have time.
4. You live in Chi town.

I think the answer to make you happy is to keep her in the bat cave for the winter and put back some coin to have what you want built. Check that... I was going to say put back the money saved not eating up fuel for your custom wheels then remembered you drive it year round.

Lots of nice looking sub $1500 wheels in this thread but it sounds like you might not be happy with them.

I'd just try to save back all the while doin what you're doin(keeping an eye out). You might find exactly what you want but if you don't you could have the money saved to have your very own made.

Amen brother! I have time...in fact my work bonus doesn't come in until early March. It's not so much about saving to get more, for me it's about being disciplined enough to keep a budget. I'm fortunate enough to even have this car, and I would like another one someday (C6 GS), so I am trying not to overspend on this one, knowing I won't get my money back out of the aftermarket parts. Been there, done that.

Again, I feel bad...I sort of made this thread about me and not the OP. So let's try to give PvtJoker21 some more input to help him on his way.

PvtJoker21: Your budget is likely looking at nice used sets of 1 pc cast wheels, or OEM replicas. Some of the better looking ones in my opinion are the C6 Z06, Cup and Spyder wheels. If you can get 18/19 or 19 all around it will look better too. TSW Panorama in bronze are dirt cheap right now as they must be discontinuing them Bronze color might actually be interesting on the Electron Blue, or you may have enough left over to have the re-powdercoated any color you like.

The C6 Z06 style wheels are a popular upgrade. When I was originally looking for new wheels I was leaning towards a forged/lightweight and fairly inexpensive wheel so the TSW's are what I was looking for.

However I came across a killer deal ($500) for the Comp Grey C6 Z06 wheels I have now. They are in Factory offsets but larger sizes. I couldn't pass up the deal and I really lucked out at how well Electron Blue goes with Comp Grey!!!

Mine are 18x9.5 with 275/35/18's in the stock 58mm offset for the fronts.
And the rears are 19x11 with 305/30/19's with stock 65mm offsets.

They come up in the Parts F/S section from time to time and you can usually grab a good deal.

If you are going to sell your OEM wheels and tires that can help off set your costs and may allow you to get some more expensive wheels. I sold mine for $850... (Forum member needed them and I had them ready to go)

In my opinion a killer Color Combination!!
