I have an extra lens around and this is the measument I get from it. Looks like 1 3/4" is about the max limit for the bulb length. Not sure if they measure the complete bulb with connector or just the bulb length though.
Those ones you ordered look like mine so they should work for you.

[QUOTE=mstromquist;1599003096]Had the great pleasure of changing out my AC compressor and a few other parts a couple weekends ago. It was kind of a pain but now that it's over I think I'd probably do it again. It's working great again so I won't need to check the freon it it before I drive it anymore. This video isn't really a DIY but more a "Ya, I can do this job myself" kind of video. I don't have the means or the knowledge to vacuum the system down to install the new freon so I had to farm that part out. Maybe next time I might try that part myself too with a little help from a mechanic friend of mine./QUOTE]
Enjoyed your video(and many others) and I believe I am going to have to do the same. While replacing my oil cooler lines I noticed a ton of what looks like oil under the passenger side suspension and then some. Looks like it's from the compressor.
I am curious as to what parts of the AC system did you replace? From what I see I need the compressor, drier/accumulator, expansion valve, condenser and seals / o-rings. Did you replace any hoses or flush them out? If you did any flushing, is the evaporator something that gets flushed also? The shrader valves should also be replaced I assume.
Thanks for any insight.
Thanks and yeah, I replaced pretty much everything expect the low pressure line. My system didn't have a catastrophic failure so I didn't have to flush anything really. My orifice tube came out pretty clean and that's one of the reasons I didn't flush the parts I wasn't replacing. I got very little oil out of the old stuff so I didn't have any reference to how much oil went back in. I had to look up that amount on line and reference my books I have. As long as you don't have a catastrophic failure I think you could get by with flushing just the lines if you want to flush them. Some people do and some don't so I'm not sure what the correct way would be. If you're just replacing the compressor I'd at least blow some air through everything and see what comes out. Good luck with your replacement. Just take your time and it will be fun....ish!
MAJOR upgrade today for Grape. Got my new shoes installed. The tires I went with are the Nitto NT555 G2's. Fronts are 275/35R18's and the rears are 305/30R19's. The new wheels are SR1 Performance in the Apex design. Front offest is +56 and the rears are +65 and mounted with a 5mm spacer, but I don't think it's really needed. Love the new look. I'll work on getting the TPMS sensors working another day. To dang hot out.
Mark you interested in selling your old wheels? By the way You just keep making Grape look awesome!
Thanks for the compliment and yes, I'm most likely going to sell them. Give me a couple days to make sure these new wheels will be good to go and it's what I want to stay with. If you're interested I'll contact you sometime next week and see what we can figure out.
Thanks for the video Mark, it really gives a better perspective of the wheels and tires. After seeing the video, I like 'em even more!
Also love your taste in music.
Those SR1's look great on your Purple car, Mark. Am curious to hear your thoughts on the Nitto 555 G2's, after you have had a chance to put some miles on them. I had 255/35/18 & 305/30/20 555 G2's on my 70 El Camino restomod and really liked them. The G2's are supposedly a big upgrade from the standard 555's.
My wife and I also like that color. Here's a pic of our Psychedelic Purple/Vivid Black 2011 Street Glide, with Hannigan Motorsports trike conversion. Wheels are Intro Rockmans, with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
