Regarding the tractor/snow plow/ I had a blade on my old IH tractor, and found I needed compensating weight on the rear to maintain grip. I used wheel weights on the rear, plus I had a 2 piece lawn vacuum set up (separate motor/fan and trailer)and would leave the power unit attached to the rear of the tractor. That did the job perfectly.
Still, it taught me a lesson. When we sold up and bought our retirement place, we decided - no big lawns, most of the 7+acres is woodland.
Thanks for the tip. I'll order some weights and get them on. Can't be to prepared honestly.

I there a chance of running the power cord down the center mount pipe and exiting the cord out the valve stem hole for a cleaner look?
Thanks, I love the look of the wheel on it. I actually thought about running the cord through the valve stem hole too. Haven't done it yet but it sure would hide it better. I may do that someday.
Yes sir, but it's not all about the purple as you can see.
Wife has trouble with her knees so I went and found a vehicle she can drive from the front of the house to the back yard and the pond area that's she really wants to be around. She's been trying to get me to buy her something ALLLLLLLLL SUMMER. So Thursday night I went looking on the web and a site my brother-in-law told me about that is local. I found her the perfect vehicle and it even fits on the small sidewalk we have in the front of the house. I hope she'll leave me alone for a while now and be happy with it. It should be good for her.
I found a 2021 Polaris 500 that has a selective rice switch so she can have it in 1 wheel drive, 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. He also said it has a turf selection, which I think is the 1 wheel drive, that will be easier on the grass if she drives on it. It isn't purple but it is Husker red so I may put some Husker decals on it. Or maybe I'll wrap it purple for her? It only has a little over 4K miles on it and it drives very well.
Borrowed my father-in-laws trailer to bring it home.
Ready to unload.
Ready to have some fun. I will take it to the detailing garage tomorrow and give it a good once over and clean it to my standards. We bought it at a Polaris dealer so it should be ready for winter that's coming. It will be outside all the time unfortunately because I have no shed or garage up top.
😄 She's had it out a couple times now and she does love it. She's kept it pretty docile for now and hasn't tore up the grass yet. If she does I'll make her fix it. 😂 I'm glad she likes it. I'm going to mount a pistol holder just below the seat in the middle so we can have some fun if we want to, protect ourselves from the bigfoot.
Rifle mount is going to be looked into for sure. Might have to fight some insurgents In a year or sooner.....
Got the pistol mount done and it works pretty well so far. Has a pretty strong magnet so it shouldn't go anywhere unless provoked by manual labor hopefully. Still being tested on that. Looks good though and it's in a very easily accessible place.

Oh yeah, Grape got new tags today too. Nebraska gets new designs every 6 years and it just so happens this is the year for them. New Husker plates are now on. I do like them both so it didn't really bother me with the new look.
Old plate.
New plate with Memorial stadium in the background.
Getting any flurries yet? Seem to recall around late October early November it started a little at a time then some rain then the snowfall begins. Being from Cali I really enjoyed it when I was stationed there. I got married on base too and my relatives all from Cali except one from upper Oregon came for the show. I cannot tell you how funny it was to watch them (Cali) enjoy the snow like it was the first time they ever seen it that much. I am sure all the neighbors (GI's mostly) were laughing because they talked about it forever. Something like "we knew those were your relatives LT because who goes out in the snow with shorts and Hawaiian shirts"? lol Oh the memories.
No snow just yet. Suppose to get pretty cold this weekend though. I'm getting things put away this week and getting ready for the sub-freezing temps that will be here shortly. Going to get the water hoses drained and put away, pond pump removed, drained and put in the garage so it doesn't freeze and then true off the lawn sprinklers and drained so they don't freeze too. Going to be a busy week. Going to have to put Grape away soon I'm sure too, but not just yet. It's always fun to see how people that have never seen snow before react to it. Just don't let them get behind the wheel when there is some on the roads though. They'll be playing bumper cars on the freeways. 😄
I do, BUT.....I sure don't miss the summers. I dealt with that for over 30 years. I'm done with that part and they can keep it down there. I'm happy dealing with some humidity and high temps that I know will disappate within a few days instead of 6-8 months during the summers. When the wife gets better, we may try and be snowbirds at some point. Will have to wait a year or 2 to be comfortable with that though. Will most likey head to Tennessee or NC for winter months though instead of Arizona as the grandkids are in NC now. It's a high of 33 today and I'm planning on staying inside and watch football all day. Sloppy joes, baked beans, potato salad, chips and cheesecake are getting ready. Shouid be a good day. 😏👍
Should be a good game. We'll see if the Huskers offense shows up today though. Defense has played fairly well so far and I hope they continue that today.
😄 That's aweome. I guess their new coach played for CO and has taught his players to hate the Huskers too. They sure made some cheap shots during the game.
I woke up this morning to 28 degrees and some of that white stuff on the ground. And I don't mean the stuff that goes up your nose. It's damn cold here today.
