Didn't get much of anything done today but playing in the snow. Had around 6 inches of the white stuff at my place. Gave me some good wheel time with the Ranger and snow blade. I almost like playing with that over the mower. It's definitely colder, it was 24 degrees today with a feel like 14 day, but I do enjoy it. Since Iowa beat my Huskers so bad yesterday, they got much more then I did I'm thinking. 😄🤙 I also did hear from my powder coater today too. Got 2 more wheels done so maybe I'll be picking them up on Monday. Then I'll take them and the tires into town to get married again. Then that project will be done and I can move onto something else. Need to get that new DeWitts radiator put in so that might be my next item since the car is already on the quick jacks.
And so it begins.... I've got rain for 8 hours tomorrow and a semi clear day monday before a mixed drizzle Tuesday with expectations of any snow laying down melting away. So I basically have Monday to get the belt system on the coupe going so I can move it and stay ahead of these condo people. Not being legally versed, I still feel they have long since established the qualifiers of pattern and intent for harassment and targeting of tenants vs owners.
I feel for ya. Good luck getting the project done before weather has other ideas. Gonna be a long winter around here I believe. Good luck with the condo patrol too. They can be very unruly and biased.
We'd be escaping for a small house somewhere but the hospital bills are still coming in. Small minded people who exist to flex on others are disgusting creatures.
Went and got 1 wheel, it was a front one. I had to repair a snow fence I put up to try and keep drifts to a minimum this winter. After that, I went and put the wheel on the car to see how it looked. It's not chrome, but it does look decent I think. I will miss the chrome, but I will get use to this. I went with what they call Silver Ore and it has lots of flake in it. You can see it when the sun shines on it pretty good. The color is a little darker then I thought it might be, but I don't mind it at all. Time for a new look I think.
Don't mind that cord hanging on the side either I took the blue rag out from under it for the picture. The car is always protected from it.
Not sure if I should go with the chrome or black lug nuts yet, I have them both on in this picture. And I still need to put the plastic rivet heads back in too. The car will look better once the tires are on and back on the ground again.
Looking forward to seeing the new finished wheels/tires mounted on the car. I was sad when I pulled off my polished (near chrome) finish CCWs because I had spent countless hours polishing them and keeping them as nice as possible, however my current set of Forgeline SC1s in brushed polished are nearly as bright and a lot easier to maintain as the brake dust and road grime just hose right off and don't imbed into the finish like the CCWs.
It's almost as much fun as mowing, but takes a bit less time. Got done with the snow around 1. Then spent the rest of the day putting up the Christmas tree.

Agreed, the closer Christmas is, the sooner spring comes.
Little progress. Yesterday I went and picked up 2 wheels that were done. Still need the last rear wheel, then I'll take it all to the tire shop. Hopefully this week. Got the TPMS sensors installed on these 3 too. I'm getting there. Suppose to be warmer toward Tuesday, so I'll maybe get started on the radiator.

That's a thing? Chrome anonymous? 😄🤣 Well, I went out to start on the radiator today. Took the cover off the front of the car and looked at the wheel that was the 1st one done. It has some issues. He told me to keep any eye on it and it definitely has gotten worse. The clear coat he put on is cracking big time. He said when he left the shop after taking it out of the oven he turned the heat down. Guess it got to cold to quick and it didn't like it. He said he'll redo it and to bring it back tomorrow. Just a little mistake that's easily fixed but it will take a few more days. I do have time. Radiator will take time too. Nice tomorrow, but it will be spent with the parents. Then it will be getting cold again, so not much time outside. No heat in the garage yet. Working on remedying that too. I also am working on the rivets/bolt heads that are on the wheels too. Trial and error on that. They don't make the correct size that I need anymore and the company did say that too when I talked to them a few weeks ago. So I'm working on using some 3D printed ones I'm fine tuning. I have some ABS in purple and it's actually really close to the calipers color. But then I found some paint that I may use too. It's a pearl paint so it might be closer to the color I'm looking for. We shall see. I may just go with black too as I have ABS in black also.
He is making it right. I gave him the other 3 wheels he got done back last night as they were having issues too. He figured out the problem, hopefully, and we'll know more tomorrow when he tries it out. He did more research on it and it isn't the room temperature. It is temperature related but not the room.
