That link turned out to be the fix. He did some research and talked with some other shops and they told him he wasn't cooking them long enough. Good find, I didn't look into it myself as I've not ever done any powder coating yet. The 3 I took back he did last night and they came out good this time. He did take them to be stripped and didn't try the recooking process, I don't think, though. I'm going to go pick them up this evening. Wife is having her right knee worked on tomorrow, so I won't be able to get the tires on until next week when I see how she's doing and I can leave her for a few minutes to take it all to the tire shop. Maybe her sister will come over to be with her for a couple days. If so, I'll be able to get that radiator finished as well as getting the wheels back on. I have the radiator drained so I just need to remove the hoses, loosen the trans lines, take the old one out and then put the new DeWitts in. Shouldn't take to much time I don't think, but I'll probably take my time and not rush it just to have as much fun as I can.
Wife got her knee replacement surgery last Friday. Came home Saturday just after noon lunch. Been taking care of her since, so no work on anything until further notice. I've been functioning on maybe 6 hours of sleep since Friday. I have an alarm set for every 3 hours so I can stay on time with her pain meds. Her sister is coming over this afternoon to help so maybe I'll get a couple more hours of sleep soon. 😴 I am getting tired, but I also think all those years of being on the graveyard shift is helping. I still have trouble sleeping at night from that anyway. So, I guess I'll be back with updates when we have anything to report. Thanks for all the prayers too. Keep em coming. 😃👍
I do also have all my wheels back and have yet to take the time to go into town to get the tires mounted. Can't leave the wife alone yet. The center caps still need to be done but that's small tators.
Glad it's going OK. That no sleep thing plays out over time, so keep hitting the sack when you can. Pre pour the meds into one of those day planner med boxes so you can shuffle over, dispense it all from the box without thinking, and shuffle back to the pillow before being fully awake.
How is your wife doing? I am having one of mine replaced this Thursday. Really hate to not be able to drive the car for a while, but working that clutch with the replaced left knee is probably going to take a month or two! At least it is winter time and I don't take it out as much any way. Hope your wife has a speedy recover and you can get back to working on the car!
If you didn't live so far way I'd put your tires back on the fresh wheels for free!
Thanks and thanks for the offer. I'd definitely take you up on that.

Thanks to you also, Tusc. The med planner thing we use. I make out her maintenence meds for a whole month at a time and it works well. I have her pain meds now set to coincidence with when those are taken. But the times don't always align so I have an alarm on my phone set for those. When I do have a chance to sleep, I try to get her taken care of so the sleep won't evade me to long. I am one of those people that can't do naps very well. If I happen to take one during the day, I can't sleep at night no matter how long the nap is. Also when I wake up after sleeping for a while, I have a hard time falling back to sleep. But, I'm doing as well as I can for now. I'm hoping her pain subsides as the next week or 2 goes on. Then I may get a little better sleep. Time will tell and heal too.

Thank you as well, and good luck with your surgery. She is doing okay. They did tell us the next 3-4 months are the most crucial. Those will dictate how much motion you get back. So take heed of the rehab and make sure you follow their instructions. We are just getting started so I can't honestly tell you how it all works. Everyone has different pain tolerance, as you know, when it comes to these things,. My wife doesn't like pain much and expects meds to take it away. I have to keep telling her thats never gonna happen. They help take some away but won't eliminate it totally. We start our first session tomorrow and luckily they're coming to the house for the first 2 week. The weather here is tolerance right now and I'll miss the that time frame this week, I do miss being out in the garage. But priorities have their place I guess too.
Be very careful of those pain meds, especially if they are opioids. They are very addictive, I know that first hand.
Yes, we have the opioid stuff. We also have some other issues as well. She's been on pain something or other since 1999 when she had her car accident. So her body has developed an immunity to them. So they don't work like they would with normal people. The doctors gave her some pretty strong stuff but they have little affect for her. So she deals with the pain more so then not. She will be going to her pain management doctor, I think next week, and they'll not give her anymore opioid stuff. She's dealt with them before and has not ever developed any long term addition to them luckily. We are doing good so far. Thanks

Thank you so much guys. Prayers are always welcome and much appreciated. Sleep is needed big-time too. I have my alarm clock set for every 2 hours during day and 4 hours during the night to make sure she doesn't miss any meds and fall behind the curve on them. Maybe in another week we can get that fixed. She is doing much better with her rehab and it's only been a week tomorrow. But, day at a time and so far, so good. No work on the car yet either. Maybe in a couple more weeks I can get back to what I started. Radiator is drained and the old one is ready to come out after the hoses are removed. Wheels are ready for the tires again but haven't taken then in yet. Can't be gone very long yet. That is about all for now.

Glad to hear your wife is doing well. I am writing this from my hospital bed. Knee surgery went well and will be able to go home in the next couple of hours. Glad I get to be at home to see the Sooners hopefully pull another one out against Alabama!
Thanks everyone. Doctor appointment checkup tomorrow, but I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck with yours too Alkay3. My wife had to spend the night for hers. Man, I was really hoping OK was going to beat up on AL too. Very sorry for the loss. No new updates on Grape yet either. Weather is great this week, but I'm struck in the house just in case she tries to fall or anything important like that.
Thank you for the thoughts! Surgery went well. I spent ome night and came home Friday. Lot of pain when the anesthesia wore off and when physical therapy puts me through the exercises, but feeling a little better every day! Hope your wife continues to feel better.
Happy new year, y'all. Wife had her first appointment from her surgeon today. Been 3 weeks and he's very happy with how she's progressing and moving and healing. I still have a couple projects on the vette that I want to finish up. I haven't been able to get out and do anything yet. Didn't feel comfortable leaving her in the house alone with potential of falling and needing anything. Hoping I can get out there in the next 2-3 weeks and get them done. So far so good though with her new knee.
