I just used what was on the car from the factory when I put mine in. Seemed to work good with those and never had any issues with any vibration or noises from it.
Little more headway today. Found out I need to get me a mini-split sooner then later. It got up to 82 in the garage today. Needed the sweat I guess. Got everything pretty much buttoned up and even poured some coolant in it. Got 2.5 gallons so far and when I can get the air intake back on I'll be able to run it and get it up to temp to see if it needs any more. I'm sure it will. No static leaks that I could see yet so that's a good start, at least for me it's a good thing. 😄 I seem to have misplaced my retaining pins for the air duct, so I'm going to have to run it without until I can source some new ones. They seem to be hard to find and if you do, they're not cheap. I checked at O'Reilly auto and they didn't have them.
Got the car up and running today. Ran it on the quick jacks with the front tires still off just in case. Ran it for 45 minutes and even cycled the tranny in drive and reverse. No runs, no drips, no errors with the radiator. That all was great. Had a very slight drip from the trans line on the bottom. Gave that a little extra torque a couple times and it seems to be good now. Temp didn't get over 190 pretty much. Fans came on when they were supposed to also. I will get the front splitter on in the morning hopefully and then the wheels. Then back on the ground and ready for a road test. I also had some time while the car was heating up to make some caps for the old DeWitts radiator that I'm going to be making into a custom sign for the garage. Should be cool when I get that done. I was actually going to look for some on line but then it popped into my head to just print some custom ones. Made these for pennies compared to dollars I'm sure elsewhere. They worked out great for covering all the ora-fecies.
Yeah, can't complain about how this project went so far, other then the time frame it took. But can't put everything on hold I guess. Almost done though. Front splitter & front wheels go back on this afternoon after lunch with the folks. Nice thunderstorm overnight too so it's not quite as warm today.

All back together and ready to roll on down the road again. Now I need to clean all the dust off from the last time I drove it, then I can drive it and get it dusty again. Gonna play with that old radiator today and see what I can come up with.
It is a chore, I won't lie. But I don't have much else to do but take care of the property and the wife, her parents and mine also. Took some time to start on the garage sign I'm making out of my DeWitts radiator. Turning out pretty good so far. Tomorrow morning I'll go out and get it hung on the wall. I'm 99% sure it won't be warrantied so I'm not to concerned about how it looks now. I did send an email to them but haven't heard back yet. If I ever need a radiator for a short time then I'll use this one since it's got a repair on it, not permanent, but it could get me by if needed.
Stenciled and ready to paint.
Painted with purple of course.
Backside, had to put the date on it.

The lights may be a good option for it. 🤔 I'll have to look into that. I checked my email this morning and I got a reply from John at DeWitts. He said that radiator I have is over 20 years old after he looked up the serial number and was actually new before the lifetime warranty. So I got taken even worse then I thought when I bought it. He also said that if they wouldn't have put the epoxy on it that he might have been able to repair it. I'm pretty sure I'll go the route of a new DeWitts after I think about it over the weekend. I'll have to figure out what I need to do. Never a bad idea to have a backup plan and that's why I have the ECP one too. If I get the new DeWitts, I'll definitely put that one in and keep the ECP too for situations just like I ran into the last couple weeks. So I get to keep the garage sign now also. 😎👍 Have a great weekend y'all. Gonna be over 100 degrees here the next few days. But it's only a few days instead of months like it was in Arizona. I don't mind that.

Last update for today. Temp says it's 99 out right now and the feels like temp is 102. Staying inside the rest of the day. Car show tomorrow and it will be hot then too. My car isn't ready anyway so I'll just go walk around and visit with some buddies I know. I did take a few minutes around noon today and got the garage sign hung. Looks good and I think I'll keep it. New radiator will be on order in a few minutes too.

Had family here visiting the last week and a half. They all went their separate ways yesterday and today. My house is very quiet now again. Maybe I'll get some time after the 4th to get the car cleaned, polished and ready for a show on the 12th here in Fremont. Hopefully it won't be to awful hot out and I'll be on a shady street. I still need to road test it after the radiator swap too. No puddles under the car yet so I'm going to assume it's going to be okay. Have a great 4th Independence day, y'all. 🇺🇸 🎆
Didn't get much play time today as we had a family/friend gathering before the fireworks display went off for the town show tonight. Did get the car back up on the quick jack and wheels off. Thought this would be an easier time polishing the sides and bottom of the car. I haven't ever tried this yet so I'm kinda anxious to try it. I'm sure it will make it easier. Won't get to I until Saturday or Sunday though as we have another family gathering tomorrow again. Gonna get stuffed with burgers and hot dogs this weekend. But that's not a bad thing really.
No runs, no drips & no errors under the front-end still. Gotta love it when things go right.
Spent 8+ hours out in the garage today. Haven't done a complete detail like that in a long time, but I'm glad I did it as it was needed. Back on the ground and ready for a small town show tomorrow, as long as it doesn't rain that is. It did drop some rain this morning and sprinkled some this afternoon, so I'm hoping that will be enough to knock the dust down some when leave in the morning. The old body is really feeling it tonight too. Haven't used those muscles in a while I guess. Or I'm just plain getting wore out. I planned on doing this detail over 3 or 4 days next week for the show on the 12th that's going to be a fairly large show. But a high school friend of mine sent me a text yesterday and asked me to attend this small one with him tomorrow. So I had to rush to get it done today. Not a bad thing as now I can just do a quick detail cleaning on it next week.
Did 3 step process that I haven't done in a long time.
