Default hatch / trunk release

my 98 has been having problems opening the hatch, only the driver side seems to be releasing the latch. would the passenger actuator be going bad? or can i fix this with the pop lid assist mod?

If it's not releasing the latch at all you probably need to replace it. Pop assist just helps after the latch has already released.

Marc at Vettenuts.net probably has one. Send him an e-mail. He's awesome with helping people find parts such as this.

You can adjust it to see if that helps release it. There is quite a bit of adjustment there and after years of closing its possible its sitting a little low.

If that does not fix it we have replacements in stock.

Thanks Marc! Is there a "how to" on how to adjust the actuator?
