Here's to absfixer! Brandon kept me posted on when he received my abs sensor/traction control module. Quick turn around time. No complaints at all from me. Thanks again absfixer.
My EBCM just went down a couple of days ago. Been trying to trac down (pun intended) the problem. Getting TCS No Comm in codes. I've checked battery, fuses, grounds and connections. No luck yet. Drives fine with out it. Just don't like the lights and messages!

Yes, lights and messages are a drag...
The newer ones are fixable most of the time.... The older units like I've done here are quite a project.
My original intention was to make people aware that SOME units are fixable...
However, many of the ABS problems that plague those cars are NOT fixable.
Trouble is entirely too many people started calling wanting to ship modules to me for repair
and without the WHOLE vehicle in my possession there is no way I can properly diagnose the fault
and no way to verify a successful repair without the vehicle.
I'll only attempt repairs for those close enough to me to leave the vehicles with me for a time.
I'm yanking my '03 EBCM out this weekend and sending it to Brandon. I don't use AH and TC at the track but, I do want the ABS function to work. I'd hate to flat spot my tires.
That's news to me. I've always watched GM sell off old or disco inventory to the highest bidder to unload it.
If you have information on this I'd love to see it.
Thanks

I do a lot of business with GMSPO and was told by the current head of purchased transportation to contact them as I'm searching for an EBCM for my 2000 vette. If you go to their website and type in the part number, mine is 9367071, it immediately recognizes the part but tells me I need to be a dealer.

So why wouldn't dealers want to do this for people, the cost must be INSANE.

1700.00 for a rebuilt installed by the dealer, that's insane. Part new was 550.00 installed. GM needs to step up on parts that control everything from braking to TCS as well as performance and not let them go out of stock.
GM parts direct still shows that part available for $1680.00. kinda steep. Somebody, some day, will come up with a way to use a later model ebcm in the early cars. Might have to change the wiring harness, to do so.
